I'm sorry but Millie was just way to annoying in this book.
First of all, I felt so bad for Brock and it's clear she never liked him so why was she leading him on.
Then at a point she said she questioned whether Enzo was really trustworthy cause he beat a man half to death when she should definetely be the last person judging someone for that so I was really confused at where that even came from.
The ‘twists' were also really underwhelming and were not written well at all.
Hard to believe there was a library hold queue for this formulaic schlock, but I was on the list and it took a mere 3 hours, with a break for food, to read what I'd already ptetty much guessed. What fun. This will be a dime store paperback for the ages....
I did enjoy the book HOWEVER it is not as good as the first book! The POV shift was good but also kind of similar to the first book and kind of drags on at some points. I wish they continued directly after the first book instead of having a big time jump. Overall a good read that I enjoyed and is easy to read.

Millie kini bekerja sebagai pembantu rumah tangga untuk seorang ahli teknologi kaya dan istrinya yang tertutup. Namun, saat dia semakin dalam menggali peran barunya, Millie menemukan jaringan rahasia dan kebohongan yang mengancam untuk mengungkap fasad keluarga yang dibangun dengan hati-hati.

Once past the idea that the same character can get caught up in a similar, yet slightly different, situation as the last time, this moves just as quickly and with just as many reveals, twists, and turns as other stories from this writer. It might have helped to serve up a litte more of a reminder of what happened in the first novel since the main character's past was so releveant to this one, but the structure once again works extremely well- including a very cinematic prologue and some of the author's best bait-and-switches sprinkled throughout.
I would have given it 5 star, if I haven't read the first book just before this. Same predictable story, but the storytellling is next level, and the ending is so satisfying...
The plot twists weren't as shocking as it was in the first book because I did predict most of it from before but it is still a very good book
Iba con algo de miedo porque el primer libro me gustó mucho y tiene un final bastante cerrado, así que no sabía si este me iba a gustar tanto. Pero me equivoqué, la escritura de Freida es adictiva y super ligera. Y este segundo libro está al nivel del primero.
A great fast read with twist and turns until the end! The story moves quickly and got me invested fast. It certainly wasn't the direction I thought it was going for a sequel to the first book but I found this exciting and refreshing that it turned out unexpected.
This author is amazing at making you incorrectly guess conclusions and as expected twists the story away from what you thought was its natural path.

I couldn't put this book down. jaw was dropped several times. I recommend reading this. Another favorite and can't wait for the 3rd book!
Millie palaa jälleen kurkistelemaan rikkaiden ihmisten ongelmallista elämää suljettujen ovien takaa. Tällä kertaa kyseessä on lapseton perhe, jossa vaimo on sairautensa vuoksi lukittunut omaan huoneeseensa. Ja kun Millie kerran pääsee hänen lähelleen, alkaa tapahtumavyöry, jota ei voi enää estää.
Idea oli mielenkiintoinen, samoin kuin ensimmäisessä, mutta tässä toteutus oli paljon edeltäjäänsä sekavampi. Lukijalle syötetään kädestä pitäen kaikki vastaukset, emmekä pääse päättelemään mitään oikeastaan itse. Olisin kaivannut kirjan ensimmäiseen osaan jotain samanlaista mitä ensimmäisessä oli, että Millie olisi oikeasti vain tehnyt niitä töitä sekä tarkkaillut samalla kummallista pariskuntaa sekä heidän epätodellista kotiaan. Asiat eivät täsmää, mutta silloin tuntuu, ettei oikein ymmärrä syytä, miksi näin on.
Koko kirja tuntui erittäin turhalta ja loppuratkaisu liiankin helpolta. Onneksi kaikki hahmot olivat äärimäisen ärsyttäviä, joten tämä oli helppo saada Helmet-lukuhaasteeseen mukaan.
A fantastic book. I even liked it better than the first one. I knew there will be crazy plot twists, but I was very pleasantly surprised to find out how everything sorted out.
Surprising twists city
I loved every moment. I don't enjoy murder but enjoy the murder of the loathsome, and oh boy is the antagonist loathsome.
Everything I want in a mystery! Major twists and turns, under 350 pages and a bit of a thriller. Voted GoodReads Mystery/Thriller of the year 2023! David N.
I definitely did not see that ending coming but I'm glad I waited a few months to read this sequel because I feel I would've gotten bored with the characters. I didn't even know a new one was out and now I'm glad I have a new story with Millie to read in the future!
