See allGreat book! However, didn't like the fact that there were over 90 chapters! They are working on a TV Miniseries! David N.
This started out as a good read but after about 50 pages I just lost interest in the subject matter (Punk music scene)! Book was the 2011 Pulitzer prize winner and winner of many other awards that year! Subject matter is what turned me off! David N.
Visitation Street was chosen as an Amazon Best Book of the Month, Amazon Best Book of 2013, and a Barnes & Noble Discover Great New Writers selection.
From my last book I read (Cozy Mystery) to this book was quite a leap! Takes place in New York City along the East River and housing projects. Great characters trying to help each other getting over a missing girl and the murder of a young teenager's father. Everything is intertwined as are the characters. No spoilers here, I believe this was Ivy Pochoda's 1st novel! I will try her next book “These Women” up for more awards 2020! David N.
My 1st time reading this author. I come from up north and really had problems with some of the expressions and slang used in the book. It's a fast paced book and the characters were great!
A couple of surprises in the book made it even better. I can see why the author has won 2 Hugo awards!! I'm going to brush up on my Southern slang and look forward to reading another of his books! Read James Lee Burke if you haven't yet! David N.
This book won awards for YA Mysteries and it was great. Lots of suspects, good characters, great mystery and big surprise at the end. Just the way I like my books. I'm 72 years old and thought I'd try a YA mystery and I felt like I was in high school again while reading it! 280 Pages and there is a sequel that I will be reading soon! David N.
