update: 11/19 i think i'm going to say 4... i really liked the action and the magic, but i was truly pissed off the majority of the book. the love triangle was triagle-ing too hard...... i was originally really excited for this to be a trilogy, but now that there are unresolved things i feel compelled to read the rest of the books because i need to know how it ends

3.75!! i actually like this one quite a bit more than the last couple of books, still not my fav but i enjoyed reading it regardless
