Excellent conclusion. I highly recommend the audios of all three of these!!
This book was an absolute roller-coaster of a finale and I loved every second of it! Full thoughts to come soon on my YouTube channel
Super fantastic audio & Sci-Fi series! I've loved every single book and will definitely recommend this for anyone wanting to dip into this genre.
Tudo subitamente faz sentido, e o puzzle é brilhante.
Just as good as the other books in the series - I love how the action and growing cast of characters was handled by the authors. Truly an incredible saga.
This was really cool trilogy. I enjoyed the plor and characters a lot!
Also, I loved the way this book was written!

A decent conclusion to the Illuminae story, but there were several points in the plot where I was a little ‘meh' about the whole thing. First off, I know this is technically a YA series, and that's probably why this didn't happen but uh...at least one of the main characters should have died. Period. Too much was at stake throughout the whole series for literally ALL OF THEM to make it out alive.
I did like the series, but it felt like everything was built up, built up, built up...only for no real BAD things to happen to the main characters. Bad things happened to EVERYONE ELSE around them, but not really to anyone that was a POV character. Oh well. Still a fun ride, either way.
had no idea what was going on at any given time but I had fun - too much fun.
So addicting and fun to read ! ! !
don't care that Aidan is a mass murderer. I would die for him.
Olivia was not wrong, these audiobooks are just f l a w l e s s. Please do yourself a favor and listen to these!!
This was SUCH a FANTASTIC series!!!!!! I LOVED (most of) The characters and their arcs!!!!! I'm also Very glad it ended the way it did, though the final part felt a bit rushed to me. I feel like it would have been more satisfying if they had talked about the actual trial a Little bit more. I'm also Very upset about my Favorite character being LEFT BEHIND :'((((((( My final issue with this (and this is honestly an issue with the who series) is that I did Not like any of the Romantic pairings. They all felt a little flat to me. I liked the characters individually!!!!! I just don't think the Romance was necessary. That being said, I ADORED the world building and writing style!!!!!! I'm definitely going to be thinking about this series for a While!!!
Read for Strangeathon 2021
I did go back and forth on my rating because I agree with most people that this was the weakest book in the series BUT all the books in this series are out of this world. This book was still a solid and wonderful book. Besides that, I loved seeing all of these characters that I adore come together to reach the goal they've been working towards since book 1. This book just made me so soft at the end I couldn't not give it 5 stars.
So ... What can I say about Obsidio next to the fact that I am an absolute mess and I live for this series?
After reading and disliking Gemina, I thought this series was going to keep going downhill. But this third book is definitely my favorite of the three!
I thought the overall plot was wrapped up really well, and I enjoyed seeing the perspectives of different resistance groups- both in space and on a planet (won't say more because it would spoil the previous books). The strategy involved in this third book was probably what made it my favorite; the first two books seemed to be more about uncovering the conspiracy, while this one was focused on the plan to defeat it. And as was the case in each installment, the science fiction elements and mixed-media storytelling format made it such a unique and fun reading experience.
I can't post a review without mentioning that there was a lot of language - see also my previous reviews for books 1 and 2. The content makes it difficult for me to recommend this to anyone, even though I ended up enjoying it (but I also just enjoy sci-fi a whole bunch). I will say as far as content goes, this one was maybe the least disturbing. Illuminae and Gemina both had some elements that crossed the line into the horror genre (a genre I will never be interested in exploring further), but Obsidio didn't quite get there in my opinion. There was still plenty of profanity and a high death toll though, so it was by no means an easy-going good time.
One thing I learned while reading these books is that I should probably be more picky about what I read. Even though this is a genre I love, and the story was interesting, I don't think it was worth it for the amount of content issues involved. I won't be reading this series again, though I will certainly be trying to find some Christian and maybe classic science fiction books. And I'm going to read a couple light-hearted Christian stories to balance out the dark story I just finished.
I listened to the audiobook version at work (to help me concentrate on work, and not jump out a window). The voice acting was very well done, and the background music for the countdown pages and the typographical anomalies was a nice touch. AIDAN's errors being read out loud was surprising, and funny. The audiobook version only helped increase my love for this amazing series :)
What a brilliant end to this series!!
I will say that I found this one more brutal than the first 2 books as there was a lot more planetside action than previously and I think it worked! It made this a very dramatic and much more gut punchy instalment to the series.
This is the finale in the Illuminae series. I enjoyed the series, with the audiobook being more like a full movie with different voice actors playing different parts. The format of this series stands out as memorable too - composed of “files” that are each a piece of evidence in a trial. This allows for jumping around between topics while still following a central thread.
What I liked about this series is that it's sci fi in space, but it still focuses on the people throughout. It never feels sci-fi first at the cost of the humans (and AI) inhabiting the world(s).

The Illuminae series has come to an end. Everything that Kady, Ezra, Hanna, Nik, Ella, Adian, and countless others have fought for is finally coming to close as they enter their final battle in the war with BeitTech. Will they survive? Will BeiTech pay for the crimes they have committed? Or will it have all been for nothing. In the words of Lin-Manuel Miranda, “Who lives, who dies, who tells your story?”
This installment had considerably less... “action” than Illuminae and Gemina but it still seemed to move quickly, just not quite as fast as the other two. However, I still found myself enjoying it quite a bit. The history between Rhys and Asha and how it affected their interactions with each other was nice. It reminded me a hit of how Kady and Ezra were originally at the beginning of Illuminae in a sense. I also liked that not everything was wholly black and white in this book; in the other two, it kind of was– BeiTech bad, everyone else good. Anyone associated with BeiTech = Satan reincarnate, everyone else...decent at the very least. However in this book you can see that there are shades of humanity still within BeiTech troops even when they are following orders. You can also see how good people, or those deemed as such, can do bad things thinking that they are doing what is right, what is best. I wholeheartedly enjoyed this series and maybe, if my heart can take it, I will reread it.

We have a title and I like it, yay! ♥
BUT it should have been released on September 2017 and today on instagram I found out they postponed it to March 2018?! FML, seriously. I've never waited so impatiently for a sequel after the Harry Potter series lmao
Right now I feel like it will be worth waiting for it only if the cover will be purple, don't mess up making it green, please.

OMG. It's been A NIGHTMARE. After a month since the release of Obsidio Amazon didn't send my copy because my order was blocked for an unknown reason 😑
When yesterday Obsidio became available I bought it again and thankfully today it's been delivered, BUT the edges of the cover are uneven, the edges are ruined and it isn't even silver foiled like everyone else's.
I SWEAR I WON'T BE PREORDERING EVER AGAIN.
OK, sorry for the rant, but I'm salty af rn. I hope the content will keep up my expectations at least lol
