Such a sweet and adorable story. This book feels very nostalgic to me, as I remember watching the movie when I was younger.

I love the character of Heidi. Although she is almost “too perfect” in her attitude and behavior all the time, she really embodies a childlike wonder and joy and faith - which is refreshing for any adult weary of the burdens of life. There is real beauty and goodness and truth, and the Lord really does take care of us in the best way.

Although it's slow moving at times, I really enjoyed this classic!

Yes, the story is engaging and exciting. Yes, Andrew Peterson's writing is excellent. Yes, the humor is super fun and adds to the storyline without compromising the suspense. Yes, the world is fascinating with hilariously varied creatures. There's so much to love.

But it's the characters that make this series spectacular. I love each individual character, the family dynamics, and many wonderful side characters.

I loved book one and now book two. And I'll immediately read book three. I highly recommend this series.

A fun, clever mystery with great characters and fantastic writing. I can't wait to read more in this series!

A brief note: the content is clean, but I would warn sensitive readers that there are some murder scenes described in a little more detail than other cozy mysteries. But otherwise, it's a light-hearted whodunit that I quite enjoyed!
