No, weird Japanese lady, I won't throw away my toilet brush, camping gear, or the leftover potting soil, even though they don't “spark joy”. Also unlikely to thank my inanimate objects for their service. But the tips may apply to my CLOSET, so that's good I guess...!
Believe it or not, I have little or no experience with this author. But this was a fun little romp!
Fluffy “junk food reading”. Always good, intricate stories with plenty of great characters.
This was EXCELLENT! Smart, interesting, engaging, and FUNNY funny funny! Highly recommend!
Didn't actually realize this was YA when I started it, but coming to the end it's obvious.
Still enjoyed it a lot. :)
I got 10% in before she started talking about “source energy” and “vibrations”. no, thanks, I prefer the real world.
Took me forever to finish because I just knew something bad was going to happen to the main character...but in the end, I loved it and will go to the sequel after an appropriate break.;)
Yup, definitely sad all-around. Very different from the movies that portray it mostly as horror and anger, the book's vibe is much more sorry, rejection, and regret from all parties. Now, to find something cheerier.
It was weird and silly and fluffy, and yet more weird, and really kind of just very Felicia Day all over the place.
Still haven't figured out why I like these books. Little or no regular plot, just a litany of day-to-day maneuvers, unrealistic characters and situations (seriously? on the water for months and months, and no STORMS?). But I do like them.
I really liked this! I was afraid it'd be too techy for me, but it was well-written and well-pared-down and I could visualize most of it well enough to follow what he was doing. It had enough human-content (emotions and such), funny moments galore! Although I must admit I was a little irritated at the ending, I wanted to know about how much weight he'd lost and his crazy long hair...
Book #26. and she's finally lost me. I can't even finish it. I've tried three times, and I give up.
spoilers
Having killed the villain in the last book, she's decided that instead of coming up with a new and unique villain, she's going to say he was secretly TRIPLETS. No joke. One of three, with almost identical names and skills. Even if that name didn't grate on me every time I read it, this book is also about 200 pages longer than it should've been, and the predicaments just get weirder and more far-fetched, even for fantasy. I'm just done.
oh wow. again with the odd pacing, with a smaller-scale subplot resolved early before moving on to the BIG PLOT. But what an amazing BIG PLOT! If you didn't have tears in your eyes at some point in the last 100 pages, I'd question your humanity. Excellent!
I'm really enjoying this series, she seems like a regular person just doing her best, and that's appealing on so many levels.
Huh. Feels like there wasn't much STORY to this book, just a huge long tale of military logistics. It was INTERESTING logistics, but...I'd expected a bit more story.
Quest for classic scifi!
Romance part was a little cliche, but at least the paranormal/fantasy part was fun, I did like the ending quite a bit.
