After disappearing for three years, Artemis Fowl has returned to a life different from the one he left. Now he's a big brother, and spends his days teaching his twin siblings the important things in life, such as how to properly summon a waiter at a French restaurant.
But when Artemis Fowl's mother contracts a life-threatening illness, his world is turned upside down. The only hope for a cure lies in the brain fluid of the silky sifaka lemur. Unfortunately, the animal is extinct due to a heartless bargain Artemis himself made as a younger boy.
Though the odds are stacked against him, Artemis is not willing to give up. With the help of his fairy friends, the young genius travels back in time to save the lemur and bring it back to the present. But to do so, Artemis will have to defeat a maniacal poacher, who has set his sights on new prey: Holly Short.
The rules of time travel are far from simple, but to save his mother, Artemis will have to break them all.and outsmart his most cunning adversary yet: Artemis Fowl, age ten.

The complexity of time travel is a common theme in science fiction; this story builds upon the well-known theme with a bit of adventure and mischief. The concepts and issues related with the time travel make this story a little less about the characters and more about their world. The primary villain, an “extinction-ist”, may be disturbing to animal lovers. I found it difficult to relate.
Two genius Artemis Fowls are hard to deal with in one story. Eoin keeps the adventure moving, but it is not as engaging as previous stories in the series.
Beyond amazing!!
Artemis Fowl is finally back to Earth after being stuck on an island inhabited by demons for “three years”. But Artemis only experienced about five hours. He returns home to find that he has two new brothers! But when Artemis' mother falls deadly ill with a fairy disease, Artemis calls in his fairy friends for help. Artemis, Holly, and the rest of the gang go on an escapade that takes them through space and time, and creates the most confusing thing known to man: a time paradox!!
It's still a pleasure to read Artemis Fowl, a kind of light touch amidst my other readings :) Even though I prefer the fifth one, this sixth book was interessing for time travel theories and i quite agreed with the theorie “Everything is already done” :)
But /!\ SPOILERS ALERTS/!\ I haven't expect a thing would happened between Holly and Artemis :O /!\ SPOILERS ALERTS/!\ .
I think this book was a good book because we could see the evolution between the machiavelic Artemis-from-book-1 and good Artemis-from-book-6. Can't wait to see the next book :O
