Honestly, there was some bad grammar and a few contrived situations, but mostly it all flowed very naturally and the characters were very engaging. I enjoyed it and will proceed to the next book at some point! :)

Yup, definitely sad all-around. Very different from the movies that portray it mostly as horror and anger, the book's vibe is much more sorry, rejection, and regret from all parties. Now, to find something cheerier.

Wow. Beautiful and terrible, lovely and horrifying. Loved this. (and don't be afraid to read it, there's enough light in the darkness to keep it from smothering you. ;) )

This was just excellent! It's a love story, but not the one you think, and the ending took me entirely by surprise. So! Good!

I didn't like this one nearly as well as Childhood's end, too many cultural judgements (“They couldn't possibly!”), too many people speaking “plaintively”, and characters were GRABBY. “she knew she HAD to have it!”
