The FMC is incredibly frustrating. I REALLY struggle with the miscommunication trope. Talking is key to a healthy relationship but instead this woman (Gemma) immediately assumed the worst every.Single.Time. It's a bit exhausting.
Ben was a great MMC tho. No complaints there.
I think I'm going to put this book on pause. I'm not sure if I'm enjoying it or not. I think I knew from about halfway through what the outcome was going to be and instead of enjoying it I just have anxiety. Maybe I'll pick it up in the future and give it another go.
2.75 or 3. I do love how fast pasced this book is. I had no idea what it was about but I assumed it was a demon fantasy and I was looking for a quick, silly Rom com. It was a lot more violent than I thought it would be. It had a lot of modern day speech as well. I still read the entire book.
This book was sooo hyped up and I was told that I would love it if I loved Zade. Ummmmm.... Nope. This book is very religious heavy. I was not expecting that. Also, I pretty much hated Aero until the end and I still might.. but now they are two very fucked up people hurting each other and it works for them so there's that at least.
Definitely got me interested in the actual book that is a continuation of this novella.
Maybe 3.5? This was adorable. But I felt like there was too much missing between them. How did the relationship get to an I love you stage? It was more like they listed after each other when all was said and done.
This book lacked depth. For 99% of this book there we're so many hurdles they just couldn't possibly get through and then the last 1% everything seemed to work itself out... Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo. This is the second book from this author that I read and I somewhat felt the same way about the previous book and I'm wondering if maybe I'm just not into this Woman's writing style.
Ahh. It was a little long and it struggled to keep my interest. I did read the entire book and it was a sweet romance. Marvin needs to work on his mental for sure. He's 29 and multiple times runs away from something that makes him uncomfortable.
I have put this book off for so long because I thought I would not enjoy it. I also picked up a highly anticipated dark ‘romance' that everyone just loved and I absolutely hated it and I wish I could go back and unread it and I felt like people were saying the same things about this book as they were about that previous book. So don't ask me why I even picked this up to begin with but I did and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I quite enjoyed the way Jennifer Hartman writes. Her writing style flows nicely together. I wouldn't say there was any morally gray characters in this book. I thought Dean was actually a stand-up guy, not morally grey at all! in fact he was fantastic. Loved him. Not sure I really like the female main character, Cora. Pretty sure I don't like her sister who after a couple weeks thought they should just get over it. Was not expecting a happy ending so that was a pleasant surprise. Probably if this ended on a bad note I would never read this book again but it ended on a good note and I'm all about happy ending so that's important to me I definitely reread.
This was a cute read. The MMC was an actual decent man! It was so refreshing. Loved his kids, not a man whore. Not much for drama. The FMC was fine. I did find myself skimming through as I got a little bored.
I think I'm rating it higher than I should. This book fell flat. I first read latte Darling and thought it was such a fun read and I guess I assumed this I one would be as well but nope.
Ok, I'm pretty sure I enjoyed this more than priest. That being said it did take me a while to get through this book. I started with physical book but ended with the audible. Jacob Morgan once again does a fantastic job 🥵. This story has an age gap (which I hate) and after a year she is already married and late stage pregnant!?! Are you kidding be. Ugh.
This is one of my favourite reads of the year. After reading a few dark books I really needed to cleanse my palate and this book was suggested to me and I'm sooooo glad it was It certainly wasn't a fast paced story which I usually enjoy the most but I was still sucked right in. It also had friends to lovers trope which I'm usually not interested in and the first 80% of the book I struggled to see the chemistry but for some reason it worked. I enjoyed and will certainly continue the series.
I might decide to up the Stars later I don't know. I'm not sure how to review or rate this book. I'm not sure why I'm struggling did I enjoy it yes?
My first Tal Bauer book and I really enjoyed it. I'm not always a fan of jumping timelines but it felt ok in this book. I was actually surprised by the ending (bad guy)
I really enjoyed this book. There were some things that annoyed me. Such as Warwick...why does he always have a boner? What's wrong with this guy? It's annoying. Also why is EVERYONE in love with the female lead? Maybe we learn down the road she is not human? Or has powers? I dunno. I find it a bit frustrating. Like she's being tortured but she's still thinking how sexy her torturer is??? Come on now...
I certainly enjoy reading Sierra Simone's writing but I struggled to connect with the characters. I liked both characters and enjoyed their chemistry so I'm not sure why I had to push myself through. I did listen through audio and Jacob Morgan🥵 always does a fantastic job. Maybe I'm needing a break from the intense religion found in these books.
I dunno how to rate this. I thought it would be a book about Mateo but was actually about Vera (who we learned about in a previous book). It was fine. I enjoyed the first two books? In the series and then I think I dnf'd a couple and then this book is sort of in between... it's all right.
I was looking for a free book in audible with my subscription and came across this one. It said it had Joe Arden as a narrator and I know he is good so I clicked in and I'm glad I did. This is my first LP Dover book and I'll definitely be reading more. Both narrators Joe Arden & Maxine Mitchell were excellent. This is about an undercover cop and a rockstar. He has to protect her but is kind of a dick for the first bit (in fact you kind of hate him) but then he loosens up and they fall in love. The first half of this book, I'm not going to lie, is a little bit slow and I thought about turning it off but I'm glad I held on because the end half of this book has actual action and suspense.
Overall it was a decent story. I found there was alot going on within the family drama and also, I didn't feel like Tait really liked Henry as much as Henry liked Tait.... Weird I know but for some reason it bothered me a bit.
I would definitely pick up another book by Tarah Dewitt and give it a go.
Not sure. This was a slow story about a show burn romance. It was cute but I had to push thru for sure. The last 25% was much better. I'm not really a gamer so maybe it just didn't speak to me?
I am rounding up to 3 stars. I loved the idea of this book. I was so excited to read and it completely fell flat. I should have DNF'd it but i just kept pushing through hoping I would eventually connect with the characters and the story. The writing was not bad and I think this book would definitely appeal to a variety of people which is why I am still giving it 3 stars. I guess it just wasn't for me. I ended up skimming as I found it moved way too slow. I did enjoy Theo Chadwick and the side character of Janis.
It started to feel like grief was their entire personality 😩. Like in 5 years she is still in such a horrible place and doesn't get help? I liked the MMC. He was very sweet if not just as bull headed.
