I neeeeeed more!!! Ok, I HATE the baby/pregnancy trope but do so love Elsie silver's writing so I pushed through and I am so glad I did ❤️ it was written perfectly. I love it. I both read it and then downloaded the audio version. The narrators were great (Joe Arden and Savannah Peachwood). I cannot wait for Beau's story.
I don't even know what to rate this.
Do you love fantasy, thick plot lines and a fast paced book?!?! Well then this book is NOT for you. I felt like this book started really strong. I am not usually one for the friends to lovers trope but this book did a great job and I did enjoy both main characters. There was more plot in the epilogue then throughout the entire book! There was sooo much potential.
I just really needed an easy romance today and this delivered. Both main characters are likable. No 3rd act break-up which is a nice change.
As of right now I don't even know what to rate this. I jumped into this thinking it was a cute fluffy novella which IT IS NOT😩. I did not enjoy the cliffhanger. I will read the next book because I'm told it's a happy ending but I doubt I'll read the entire series.
I actually don't know of this was a good story or not. I listened to the audible version and the narrator was 🥵🥵🥵. I mean it was good enough that I encouraged my friend to listen to it. This was essentially my first spicy book and it did a great job of introducing me into the world of spice.
Ok I'm rating it a bit high. Probably 3.5 or 3.75? This book has a very soft plot. Ok, this book doesn't really much much of a plot. It's a fluffy romcom and I'm ok with that. Childhood friends to lovers is usually touch and go but this was written well. Elsie Silver has quickly jumped to the top of my must read authors.
I had to force myself to finish. I'm giving it three stars because I loved the concept of the book. Time travel, romance, adventure.... But I found the MC quite annoying. Also, it was clear she didn't really like her fiancé very much and yet stayed with him through 90% of the book. There was definite emotional cheating going on as well. I feel like there is so much potential and it looks like there are four? Books in the series so maybe it gets better and more exciting moving forward?
Jumped in with my eyes closed. Didn't realize this was a book about pregnancy (and love). I hate the pregnancy trope. HATE IT! and yet i pushed through and I'm so glad I did. I loved the writing style, I loved Win (FMC) and I absolutely loved Bo. Best Golden Retriever man ever.
I'm giving this 4 stars because I love Elsie Silver but truth be told it's more like 3.5. I really struggled with Ada. She's only 21 in this novella and you can definitely tell. The novella itself was a short and sweet read and I could really feel the emotions in such a short time which was nice.
I read it. The entire thing. I started skimming.
This was an instalove sort of story really. I also wouldn't call it a dark romance either. If this was a story written about two random ppl I probably would have really enjoyed it but instead it was written about Pan and Hook but it certainly didn't feel like them. It was more of a fan fiction put in print.
Okay I am writing this book four stars but I'm not actually sure it's worthy of four stars. To be honest it is a little Bland as there's not a lot going on but I feel like the romance was pretty adorable and maybe it's because I'm an emotional mood right now but I think it's just what I needed to read. I tried to read the book previous to this in a series and I dnf'd it. I'm definitely going to give the third book a go because this one just did it for me. If you're looking for something exciting to get you going this is not the book for you but if you just want a really sweet Second Chance Romance with a bit of spice then this is for you.
I enjoyed book #1 a lot more. There was a bit of character development but there wasn't really a plot.
This was pretty good! Ok, there were a couple cringy moments but overall it was a joy. I almost DNF'd 50 pages in because the FMC was a tad too much for me but that got all sorted out and eventually you warm to her. This was my first Megan Quinn and I've since realized this is actually book 3 so I'll go back and check out the first two for sure.
It was fine. I felt like they worked up to something big that was happening because of the speakeasy and the war against the families and yet literally nothing happened in the end? Also I'm not really sure why they broke up to work on themselves? And he only lives like 2 hours away. To me that's nothing. I drive that a lot... like multiple times a week so I'm not quite sure why that would throw a wrench and everything. Overall it was cute.
I really struggled through the first half of this book. I really didn't want to DNF it since I just finished the Chestnut springs series by Elsie Silver and I LOVED them. The second half of the book was much better. I maybe struggled to connect to the characters? I will definitely continue the series tho.
I feel like I missed too much of the relationship progression, ‘I hate you' to ‘spend your life with me' How did they get there!?!? Also, Warren has some red flags that bother me.
Did I enjoy this book? Yes! Could they have cut it in half without you missing any important details? 100% yes! Geez I started skimming over Poppy's inner dialogue and recaps from the last two books.
The first half of this book was so dry. The second half caught my attention and then BAM it ended.
Would I read this again? Yes. Did I cringe through it? Also, yes. This was my first age gap and I struggled. However, I felt the author did a good job with it. Also, I felt she tricked him into a sexual act and I'm all about consent so that bothers me quite a lot.
This was adorable. Both characters were likable and I actually rooted for them the entire time. I did not like the ‘have to get married or lose your entire life's work' trope. I enjoyed it well enough that I bought it right after finishing on kindle unlimited.
This book could have wrapped up at the 63% mark. Sloane and Walker.... Instead of talking things through there was a lot of the silence treatment going on. It got old fast.
I mean, it was fine. I can't put my finger on WHY I didn't love it. I feel like it was more of an insta love rather than enemies to lovers. Although they did beat each other up the first time meeting. I'm not 100% sure if I'll continue with next book.
This book was slow and I started to scan over a bunch. It also leaves on a cliff hanger but these four(?) Books could have made two amazing books but once again another series that is being dragged out.
This book made me very angry. I did not like the ending. You don't really learn about Theo until the end because it's 100% Megan's point of view. She's obsessed with her dead husband and can't seem to get past it. In the end it seems like Theo is possessed by her late husband Cass or something. I actually felt really sad for Theo. So is he Cass or is he Theo? I don't really know. But at the end of the book essentially Megan's with him because she believes it's Cass not because she's in love with Theo although there is one line there in the book that claims they talked about it and she does love Theo. The first half of the book I probably would have rated four stars and the end half two stars. This is definitely not a love story and I left feeling depressed.
