Not only am I surprised that I picked this book up but I'm surprised I also thoroughly enjoyed it. I read the first in the series a long while ago and did not enjoy it so much. I think I rated it 2 or 2.5 stars and although, I had issues with this book (like the classic lack of communication 🙄) I found myself immersed Within. I liked Sloane and Lucian was a classic asshole but SLOWLY grew on me.Â
I'm being generous giving two stars here. This book is an absolute mess. It's so over the top with drama. I was irritated the entire book through with Ares the MMC.Â
Let me start off by saying that I LOVE Stephanie Archer books. The Queen's cover series? One of my favourite go to ever! Behind the net? LOVED! That being said this book just wasn't it for me. It took me a very long time to get throu. I found myself frustrated with the characters consistently throughout. I talked myself out of DNFing it multiple times. I'm giving it 3 stars but that could be generous.Â
People are crazy. It was good. Not as much rambling as the first books. I say that but maybe I am better at skimming those parts? I really feel like this series should and absolutely could have been ended by now but alas there are two more books to go. Â
Man, I'm all for slow burn but damn this was excruciatingly slow.
I really didn't like Aiden until the last 20% of the book. He has absolutely zero personality. Zac was a good side character. There was also a LOT of inner dialogue which made the book move pretty slow. There is a tiny bit of spicyness at about 97%. Maybe I struggle with single POV.Â
Faye= severely abused girl with zero support in an arranged married to a man a decade older from the time she was six.... Needs lots of therapy.
Dion= also needs therapy and clearly the therapy he had was not the correct one. Dion is a dick. I guess he was supposed to be morally grey but I didn't feel the connection. He was manipulative and I'm going to say walks the line of being abusive.
I found a lot of the sex scenes cringy and ended up flipping past 99% of them.
LOTS of repeated dialogue!
This book is a hot mess. Valentina needs therapy asap. Luca needs a kick in the pants.Â
I HATED the beginning. It actually turned out to be a fluffy romance. I'm not sure what else to say.
WTF Lexington! He did such an unforgivable thing to his wife. Raya was too forgiving.Â
This book was cute. I kind of struggled to get through it and I found I was getting a wee bit bored 2/3rd of the way through. Ryan Shay is the perfect book boyfriend. Yes please.Â
Was this a good book? No. Did I read the entire thing? absofuckingloutly I did. Maybe because it was so short I felt there wasn't really much room for character development or a more complicated plot. Definitely good? (Ok debatable lf it was actually good) smut in there tho.
I won't be reading others in this series. It was fine. The FMC had zero character growth. I enjoyed the MMC. This book dragged on and on and on.Â
AHHHHHHH. I don't even know how to rate this. I've put 3 stars but is it?!?!?
I ABHOR communication problems in books. Like Why!?! I almost DNF'd this multiple times. The FMC is an impulsive liar to an extreme. She literally just lies to everybody because for some reason that's easier than just telling the truth. I'm so irritated.Â
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I had to come back to it a few times before I really started to get into it. I read a lot of sci fi and as much as I enjoy the action pack plot going on in most sci fi's it was really nice to read about the lives of Star chasing characters. A bit different. It was maybe a bit more fluffy than I thought it needed to be but it was a nice comfort book that I'll def read again. I LOVED that it was a diverse group of characters. Not the same old, same old!Â
I thought Brock was a pointless character. Clearly she didn't like him from the beginning. I was actually annoyed reading about her and her boyfriend. The ONLY reason I feel like he was needed in the book was because he was a lawyer except when all was said and done he bailed on her immediately.
I felt like I was missing something with Enzo so when I finished book I went online and I guess the first book was about Millie and Enzo so that would have been the back story.Â
Millie believed that Wendy was going to take care of everything? Like she didn't even wipe off the gun!?!? Wendy couldn't even care for herself but you trust her enough to clean up and erase a murder?????!!!!!Â
Book could have been condensed a wee bit. Strung out a little long.Â
I was actually surprised at the twists. Usually I can guess the ending but I actually didn't. Also, everyone got their just desserts at the end lol.
I think I'm rating this book a bit high 😢. I LOVED the Queen's cove series but for some reason this book fell a little short for me. I struggled to even like the FMC.Â
Didn't think I was going to enjoy this book but came out in love with Stefan Dalca! I need more of this man for sure.Â
It's a bit boring. Not much plot. Not much groveling after all is said and done which is always a disappointment. It's an easy read which can be nice from time to time. I did enjoy how the FMC was good at banter.Â
I'm rating this 5 stars for the vibe. If you want a fluffy (with spice) hockey rom-com with no 3rd act break up this is it. Both main characters are likable and Rory is top tier.Â
Yes, yes, yes! This little novella just worked for me. I enjoyed both the main characters and even tho it was such a short read it seemed to flow and work together. To be honest out of the six main Eden books I could only enjoy the first? Two. Then I DNF'd moving forward. I found the men a bit too red flagy and I just couldn't move forward but this book... I'll take more.Â
Maybe 3.5 - I don't know what to rate this. I might have to marinate for a while and come back. It was ok. I really struggle with the miscommunication trope. I get so irritated. However, the characters were cute and there were a few sexy scenes. Not much happens in this book. It's really just an easy breeze through, non thought provoking historical romance. This was my first Tessa Dare novel and I'll give another one of her novels a go for sure.Â
Uuuhhhhhh, everyone seemed loco for this book. It I just didn't get it. He has two dicks but only penetrates one whole at a time? in fact at one point I think he used his tail to penetrate her asshole while he's screwing her even though he has two dicks, what a waste. I also struggled not really understanding what he looked like. sometimes I wish authors would have photos. Like what did his tail look like? I'm still a bit confused. The characters did have some growth which was nice but it was instalove which I'm not really into. One month in they were all consuming in love with each other one week in and she's already asking him for sex. I gave it two stars because I thought she did an ok job at describing the foreign realm a bit and her characters did have growth and I did not end up DNFing this book so two stars.Â
Well, I enjoyed this book more than all the others in the series.
So Xavier claims to be in love with her for years, begs her grandmother for Sierra's hand in marriage and then turns out to be a shitty life partner. Refuses to communicate (unless its sex) then when SHE goes through something traumatic he's the one to push her away. Ugh... Wtf.
