How well you enjoy this novella will depend on how you feel about the (not surprising) reveal that the homeless man Barney rescues from being assaulted is actually rich, handsome and has the power to make all of Barney's dreams come true with a wave of his hand. It's feels like a fairy tale but also kind of a somewhat offensive misappropriation of a genuine social crisis (homelessness). If you're going to have a type, that's not a bad one to have.
