See allgiving my dear friend Rebecca full credit for sharing this treasure with me:
the fact that this isn't the actual cover, however, is one of the world's greatest travesties
[4.25] what a setup! i went in completely blind and somehow convinced myself that the love interest was someone else, so imagine my surprise when Murdo Balfour appeared again. and again. and again.
oh.
who was i holding out for all this time???
I'M DUM DUM
rating purely for the thrill! it's been a while since i've come across descriptions containing this much gore and viscera. there's a long slew of cws, so keep that in mind if you're actively sidestepping graphic content.
*note: the romance is m/f and bubbles in the background, but even if it were m/m, i still wouldn't be able to bring myself to like Jeffrey on principle. looking past his cheating history while they were married, even if it's a one-off instance, because he couldn't handle her having her own life is just not going to happen in this lifetime. if you needed more love and attention, you could've tried saying so instead of running off to the town's sign painter lady or whatever her occupation was. we all saw that divorce coming from a mile away
I loved seeing Miss Marple out of her regular environment and taking on a more active role, questioning suspects and conducting her own personal investigation. Can I aspire to be her by the time I hit retirement age?
