¡Nanananana, esto es puro cine! 🚬Brandon Sanderson nos lleva en un viaje donde la trama no solo se enrevesa, sino que te envuelve como si te estuvieras quedando atrapado en una tormenta de ceniza literaria. El inicio es algo lento, sí, como esa olla que parece que nunca hierve, pero luego te das cuenta de que Sanderson es el chef que cocina a fuego lento para que el sabor final sea inolvidable.

El Pozo de la Ascensión es como un buen guiso: al principio piensas “¿Esto tardará tanto?”, pero cuando llega el clímax, no puedes dejar de devorarlo. Cada página te acerca al borde del asiento, o mejor dicho, al borde del Pozo (sin ascender demasiado para no spoilear). Y qué decir del final… ¡Me ha dejado con los dientes largos y un mono literario del tamaño de un koloss! Ahora estoy mirando la tercera entrega como si fuera el siguiente banquete en este festín épico.

Very good follow-up, however, it took about midway through the book really make me interested. This book does a lot to build upon the setting of the previous book and has some amazing payoffs and set ups for book three, but can feel like it's dragging at the start.

Are you fucking kidding me? Kept the mayo alive and killed off the only interesting love interest?? Men writing romance subplots should be banned.

Tässä olisi ollut kyllä reippaasti tiivistämisen varaa.Ei ole myöskään mitään naiskirjallisuutta tämä, vaan melkoinen all male panel. Päähenkilö on nainen, toki, ja pari sivuosanaistakin mukaan mahtuu, mutta siihenpä se sitten jääkin ja miehiä on äänessä vaikka millä mitalla.Tarina oli kuitenkin riittävän kiinnostava, että jaksoin loppuun asti, siihen oli leivottu jopa muutama ihan ovela käännekin. Kolmososa kuulemma sisältää huomattavan annoksen vastauksia kesken jääviin asioihin – kakkososa kun jättää paljon juttuja auki – joten ehkäpä sekin on sitten luettava, vaikka tiiliskiveltä sekin vaikuttaa.

Well, I got round to reading the second book of the series and again this is utterly fabulous. I have to say when it comes to Brandon Sanderson - Where have I been? How on earth did I miss these books. I know I fell out with fantasy books for quite a while, I kind of got sick of the same thing (bearing in mind I have been reading fantasy since I was about fourteen and I am now well past this age). Anyways, about the book. One of the things that impresses me about these book is the fact that they are character driven rather than all out fantasy action. Obviously, Vin's character is expanded on as is Elands, but I have to say that the growing relationship between Vin and Oresur is by far the most interesting and it also gives an insight into Kandra culture which I found intriguing.

This storyline starts Round a year after the events in "The Final Empire", and as expected it turns more political and strategic, given the aftermath of the first book I was actually thinking it would be slower but I did not see this coming at all! Yes it carries "not so fun" topics such as politics, leadership and post-war hardships but it also explores other topics as deep as it can get, such as friendship (very important detail from Kelsier's last words to Vin in book 1), rightness, faith, love, and the character development was exquisite! I think every major character evolved one way or another and that was a nice touch to get to know them better, their true selves, their motivations and their fears.

This book is also full of foreshadowing and plot twists, the ending is mind blowing, so much so that I can totally relate with how Sazed ends up feeling regarding his faith. It does have sins, though, as the second book in most -if not all- trilogies but Brandon managed them so well that it didn't end up being neither boring nor heavy at any point, he does know how to keep a reader engaged through character development.

I can't wait to start the third book ASAP!

I found some of this written with a heavy-hand. Particularly Vin’s insecurities, some of the romantic intrigue, and everything said by Zane. I also started picking up on some of Sanderson’s writing crutches—most notably during long stretches of political discussion and strategy.

The word “frowned” is used 147 times in this book.

Otherwise, another great read. I ripped through this one so fast! Storytelling from the point of view of more characters was a good choice. I felt closer to some of Kelsier’s crew as a result, allowing certain actions to hit harder than they would have otherwise

The final act felt too short for the journey leading up to it, but even in its brevity… *mwuah*. Stunning. What’s left beyond the epilogue is an air full of questions that has me anxious to continue.

Me ha gustado muchísimo, podría decir incluso más que el primero (vale, no. Pero casi). Todo el rato he estado muy intrigado y no he sentido que me aburriese. Me han encantado las tramas y los personajes que han aparecido... qué locura.

Y el final... fumada macarrónica absoluta. Qué maravilla.

Vin y Sazed siguen siendo los mejores personajes. Les quiero mucho.

Well of Ascension wavered a bit in the middle, as Kelsier's loss in the prior book left a gap. There were also frustrating character choices and it at times felt like characters picked up one thread to follow while forgetting / ignoring the others. 

Still a super enjoyable, fun read that tied it up very well in the ending and sent me straight into Hero of Ages.

Its predecessor was the most bland piece of ass-wipe ive had the displeasure of witnessing, but this one was quite decent actually. this is, alas, mistborn, and there is something about this story that will never truly get into the eety-beetsy little crevices of my heart and resonate with anything at all. So far atleast.

Este segundo libro de nacidos de la bruma te deja con el deseo de terminarlo para inmediatamente leer el tercero, esta muy bien construido, dejandote la sensación y el deseo de no terminarlo nunca.

Como continuación lo considero un poco mejor que el primero ya que en este hay más acción y una serie de desenlace que hacen que sigas pegado al libro en cada momento.

Recomiendo totalmente esta saga de libros.

Intrigante es decir poco.

Brandon Sanderson just does such a phenomenal job. Every aspect of this book is so beautifully written and works so well together. From his characters to the story, it's so incredibly fleshed out that you fall in love with everyone. For two nights straight, I stayed up 4 hours longer than I was supposed to just to read more. The only reason I'm not starting the next book is because I really need to go to sleep.

stellar read. Loved it so much more than book 1

I read this book in a day!!! A big accomplishment because it is 763 pages long... This book was great and a fun read but I did get bored at some points and compared to the first book ‘The Final Empire' (which I gave 5 stars) it was not really as fun but the stakes where high and I was constantly at the edge of my seat. 

Absolutely loved!

This book handles every objection I had with the first. The characters are far more developed and many are more memorable. The main love story is much more interesting , believable and mature. The choices made at the end of the first book were built up very well and made much more sense such as the choice of the city's leader which seemed unbelievable at the end of the first book. The best things about the first one are maintained and built upon, from the lore to the unpredictable yet foreshadowed plot. Overall, loved it.

Almost all the characters have their charm. The magic system is original and the plot is interesting. Seriously, this book is long but I am up to my feet every time there's a fight, and there is almost at least one in every chapter. I love it. I now know why Brandon Sanderson is such a goat to high-fantasy readers. I look forward to the conclusion of this series. I have high hopes, and I know I will not be disappointed.

The Well of Ascension was a great read, it just didn’t quite live up to the insanely high standards set in book one. Vin really carries the story and is amazing. She grows a ton from where she started the series and where she started this book to who she is at the end of it. The problem with this book was that she didn’t have great support. It really missed Kelsier. The rest of the crew falls off without him and Elend doesn’t fill the gap like he was supposed to. At the end of the day, this was still a great story in such a cool world that any flaws didn’t take away from my overall enjoyment.

This was a hard book to pick up, but it was very hard to put down. Though I didn't really understand all of the politics of the world, it was still a good book. There were times in the beginning that made it feel like it was just a sequel, but it was towards the second half of the book that really made it feel more like a book in its own right. As good of a book as it was, I don't think anything can compare to the first book.

Same great characters as the first book, but this one was much harder to get through as it was less action and all politics. But still an enjoyable read.

This was a really tough review for me. The last half of the book is an easy 5-star. The last 10% could be a 6-star. But this book really suffers from being a sequel. The author had to spend like 300 pages talking about the changes in the world and on developing and deepening the characters, but it felt directionless. Compared to the first book, where you know exactly what the characters' mission is from almost the very beginning, this was a really tough transition. I guess that feeling I got accurately matched what the characters were feeling themselves, but I just didn't like it. This felt like a transition book, just trying to get the overall story to move from the first book to the grand finale at the end of the third book, with a lot less action/conflict than you would expect for its length.

All in all, I really enjoyed the book, it was a great followup and the character development really was expertly done.

Lots of violence, like in the first book, but there were a few things that made this one a bit more mature. It's regularly implied that one of the villains is violent against women in a way that's a lot heavier than general wartime fighting and gore.

Comparado el anterior hay cosas que hace mucho mejor, como por ejemplo tener un final mejor estructurado y sin tantas prisas. Y hay otras que ha hecho peor, como todo lo relacionado con enamoramientos y crisis de amor.

Es un libro cuyo primer 70% es muy tranquilo, pero aún así no lo puedes soltar. El último 30% es un frenesí.

En general; muy bueno, entretenido y ridículamente adictivo.
