Thomas Jefferson gets to judge the souls of the dead and decide if they go to good hell or bad hell or Kansas hell. It's so over 💀
I'm not very good at this so I'll keep it brief. Like some kind of idiot, I watched the movie long before I read the book. As a matter of fact, I still haven't finished the books because of a particular event that happens in the fifth one...I digress.
ahem
Anyhow, this is a book that I'd happily read again, hence the 5 stars. My initial reaction to the book was ‘I'VE BEEN LIED TO!' because I thought the first movie was good and was content with the information I had received from the movie and the fandom. But then I read the book. It is far better. I particularly like the titles of the chapters and Percy's little quirks. And Luke. Luke is my baby.
TL;DR: I watched the movie first, the book is better, shame on me.
I read this in like 5th grade ( actually my teacher read it to the clas) and it was really good. You should read them
Great book! I've always been a big mythology nerd ever since I was little, and this series brought my childhood passion to life like nothing else I've ever seen. Sadly, this is a case of “don't-judge-a-book-by-its-movie” because it SUCKED. So mad about that because its just so awesome that it deserved to be representedbetter than that.
I enjoyed everything about this book: the humor, character development/relationships, and well, y'know the Greek mythology part
I can't wait for more Percabeth!! They get so much closer (cuter). I love how every adaptation of PJO gets Annabeth wrong
Also, the fact that everyone glosses over Smelly Gabe and his abusive behavior - so besides the hints of verbal abuse that we see throughout the book, what about the fact that he has been HITTING SALLY
My Top 3 of Phrases:1. Even strength has to bow to wisdom sometimes.
2. What belongs to the sea will always return to the sea.
3. The sea does not like to be restrained.
é nostalgia e tudo isso... mas não sei. Falta algo nesse livro. Tirando isso é tudo muito mágico e bem escrito. As batalhas são divertidas e no geral o livro é bom.
I never said "This is the best book" this year. THIS IS THE BEST BOOK I READ THIS YEAR. Look, I tried to read the first book of Percy Jackson in 2021 thanks to a friend of mine (Dakota if you're reading this for coincidences of life, I own you my entire addiction) who recommended the book, she lent me but in that time I didn't use to read that much like now. I'm obsessed, from a long time ago I wanted to read the PJO series and I finally bought them and now (I'm in the last book) I feel like I found my world. Maybe for everybody sounds strange, but I'm not joking, I feel like I finally found a home, finally.
Only took me waaaaay too long!
Coming from someone who watched the movie first years ago, I can see why people did not like it. But I did not expect Percy to only be in 6th grade.
Despite that the movie roughly follows the story of the book. Enjoyable listen and Jesse Bernstein did a great job!
Una gran aventura, con mucha acción y entretenimiento. Con un plot un poco predecible, pero aún así valió mucho la pena. ⚡️🌊
I would have really got into this if I read it at 13. Love Percy. I didn't know he was such an angry kid.
the preteen tomfoolery is on point and the world is just so magical. honestly a must-read series
It was interesting to re-read it 10 years later. I used to think the writing was way better, but i will blame it on reading it in a different language. A very good series for unwinding before bed
this was awesome, it's incredible how much reading this when i was 9 altered my brain chemistry forever
