Rowling could write thousands of pages about the characters from the Harry Potter books and I would buy that book without hesitation.
Hogwarts' staff
I'm glad I left this one till last. If you're prone to tears while reading, have some handy. Short but a fantastic read. I loved this!
Cute. Very easy read, I read it in an hour. Gives you insight on the life of certain characters.
I honestly didn't care for this book too much. I enjoyed the back story about Minerva McGonagall because she is by far my favorite character (tied with Luna) in the series. Without her biography I would have given this one star.
This also has a misleading title. However I prefer the other Short Stories from Hogwarts better.
Who is looking for the life Stories of some HP characters, this is a must read. <3
Nice read but this one goes too close to Grindewald story without getting into it which really drove me mad (I waaaaant to know more for God sake.). Nice to dive into the Potterverse again but that's it.
I enjoyed the extra info, but felt it could have been so much more. Also not wholly convinced on the style, where it's partly in the story, but then partly looking at it from the outside e.g. “in the Harry Potter books”, and with extra info from JK Rowling herself. I was kind of hoping it was going to be written by someone from the HP universe, in character. Same applies to all three of the newly released books.
The chapter on Lupin absolutely destroyed me. So sad but so good and wonderful to read.
The wizarding world can be a dark and dangerous place. There are spells that can kill in six syllables, potions that can rob someone of free will and magical beasts that can tear even the bravest wizard limb from limb. That's what makes valiant acts of heroism more powerful and more necessary.
If there's one thing these stories prove, it's that heroism comes in all shapes, sizes and varieties – whether it's Remus Lupin giving his life to save the wizarding world or Silvanus Kettleburn hurling Flobberworms at Death Eaters from his attic. After all, you don't have to be a sword-wielding Gryffindor to be a hero; sometimes, all it takes is having your heart in the right place.
I was hoping to find Draco's post in this one. I've already read it, yes, but it would be nice to see that Draco was included in one of these three — oh, but sure, let's add freaking Kettleburn, but not Draco.
Minerva's bit is beautiful, though. It's one of the few pieces from the “new Harry Potter stuff” that I actually, genuinely enjoy and love.
