Loved this second installment of my favorite book series! New twists and turns and adventures and OH MY GOSH I JUST LOVE IT!!! I like the new addition of Kishan as a major character, although I'm not crazy about the love triangle thing. I'm just not into that, but it did make the story more interesting. One of my favorite things about this book is that it came out so quickly after the first. I found (and finished) the first one within a week or two of its release date, and it wasn't but about three or four more months and the second was out, and the same with the rest of the series. No waiting a year to see what happens! Amazing book and series overall and I highly recommend it for fans of tigers, fantasy, romance, and adventure.
It was a super great series, and I loved every second of it, except for my favorite character died and there was a HUGE CLIFFHANGER AT THE END AND NO SEQUEL!!!!! What?!?! What kind of lazy writing is that?!?! Other than that...... really cool.
So I found it while browsing on B&N before the second one even came out. I read the overview and thought “eh I don't have anything else to read. Why not?” I wasn't expecting much because I'd never heard of it before. MIND. BLOWN. This quickly became my favorite book series ever and I love the author's writing style. I hope to be half the author she is if I ever get published. That's way more than I could ever ask for.
GAH!!!! SO GREAT YET SO FRUSTRATING!!!!! I have a love-hate relationship with cliffhangers in the sense that I realize it makes the series more interesting, but the ANNOY THE HECK OUT OF ME. I love that Ren, Kishan, and Kelsey finally have a quest together and I love the visual I got from the description of the dragons and other creatures they met. Very descriptive writing and ALWAYS WITH THE CLIFFHANGERS!!! WHY COLLEEN WHY?!?!!?!?!
Really cool, really fun. I'll admit I cried when I thought Bernie Cosar might die. My dad walking in and saw me crying and asked what was wrong and I said “this book-“ and he cut me off and said “That explains it.” I can't wait to read the next one but I haven't ha any time recently and it's KILLING ME.
NOO!!!!! Why?!?! I wanted a happy ending!!! WHY DIDN'T I GET A HAPPY ENDING?!?! I completely loved it and couldn't put it down..... until the last three or four chapters. It just about killed me to read that. I think it could have ended better (as in less completely heart wrenchingly depressing) but still it's good as a whole.
Egyptian mythology has always fasinated me and Rick does it again and brings it to life in modern day understanding. Love the book (even though my best friend practically had to blackmail me into reading it at first) and Anubis is my favorite ^_^
Ok. I cried. Like, A LOT. Totally caught off guard and in my Achilles' heel. Loved it, got frustrated with it, but above all it's still an amazing book.
Eh, it's pretty good. It's not like “OMG I LOVE THIS BOOK SO MUCH AND I WILL NEVER PUT IT DOWN AND I WILL BUY THE ENTIRE SERIES AT ONCE AND FINISH THEM ALL IN THREE DAYS”, but it does have mildly intense suspense, good characters, and a good plot. It got a bit too touchy-feely for me towards the end, but all in all a decent read.
Love this book so much! I was watching the Miyazaki movie with my sister, and I saw on the opening title “based on novel by Diana Wynn Jones”. I was like “omigod omigod omigod I NEED THAT BOOK!!!!” Totally lived up to and even exceeded expectations. Recommend it for anyone who's seen the movie and/or loves fanasity with a little romance.
I <3 Finnick! This book is worth reading just because he's in it. lol jk really the book would be great without him.... it's just MUCH better with him
Forced to read it in HN Lit. I don't completely hate it but I can't say I like it either. It was just really boring and had a stupid ending.
gasp! I really wasn't expecting that! ...... nope I'm lying. I totally say that coming. Doesn't mean I'm happy about it, but I wasn't caught totally blindsided. Still a great book even though my slight psychic ability when it comes to my favorite books kinda ruined it a little.
Oh my gosh, where to start?! Well, first of All I aant to say that this is a proper example of vampire literture, unlike that horrid series named after the phase after sunset but before it gets reallt dark that I dare not utter for fear of crushing my fragile sanity. I love the character dynamic and how diverse it is. This is the first book I've ever read with an openly gay character, and twins who aren't related and aren't even the same skin color. The plot is amazing and the writing style is very simple and hilarious. Highly reccommend it (but definantly not for young readers. I'd say PG14 at least.)
Love this continuation of the series and LOVE Rick's writing style! Percy could be in a tank full of man-eating sharks and he'd still find a way to make it funny.
Great book! I've always been a big mythology nerd ever since I was little, and this series brought my childhood passion to life like nothing else I've ever seen. Sadly, this is a case of “don't-judge-a-book-by-its-movie” because it SUCKED. So mad about that because its just so awesome that it deserved to be representedbetter than that.
Wow. Seriously didn't see that one. Totally caught of guard. Love it and this is where I think the series hit its peak. I recommend it to anyone. And I mean anyone and EVERYONE.
I absolutely loved this novel. Much better than Stephanie Meyer's more popular book series Twilight (yuck). Better characters, better plot, better setting, better love story. Even if you absolutely hated Twilight (like I do), this is still an amazing read. And even if you adored Twilight (no offense to you, I just don't like it) you'll definantly love reading this exemplary example of English literature.
This was the first thing we read as a class in my Honor's 10th grade Lit class this semester. I gotta say I probably (probably being defined as 100% certain) wouldn't have read this simply by seeing it here or on a shelf somewhere. I had to be forced to do it. But after we read the first chapter together, I got pulled into it and ended up finishin it a week before I was supposed to. It has a great message that needs to be preserved and passed on.
I'm gunna be honest and say I had no clue how they got out of half of the stuff they ran into. It was just really epic.
A great classic. Many stories we all know and love and many lesser known ones that deserve to be read. While I respect the author's choices, I would like to point out that many of the stories don't seem appropriate for children. If you're not familiar with the Hans Christian Anderson original version of The Little Mermaid, don't expect a written version of the Disney reimagining. And don't read it to your kids without reading it yourself first.
My first Greek tragedy. Another thing I was forced to read in HN Lit this semester and ended up loving. If I had read it by myself I wouldn't have understood it, but my teacher translated it piece by piece and put it in a context we'd understand. I love my Lit class ^_^ Anywhoozle, it's really ironic and kinda funny how things pan out, but I hate spoilers so I'm not gunna say anything.
