One of the best depictions of war I've read, it contained a few clichés but they did not consume the entire book. However, I felt like some parts were rushed, some emotional connections between characters and history seemed forced and the magic rules seem too lenient.

The teenage drama and NSFW scenes ruined it for me. The dragon bonding signet manifesting thing was pretty cool and I actually liked the idea, the problem, for me, was in the execution.

It starts off a little slow, but picks up the pace and keeps you entertained through the entire book. I really enjoyed how the political plays are portrayed.
