One of the best depictions of war I've read, it contained a few clichés but they did not consume the entire book. However, I felt like some parts were rushed, some emotional connections between characters and history seemed forced and the magic rules seem too lenient.

It starts off a little slow, but picks up the pace and keeps you entertained through the entire book. I really enjoyed how the political plays are portrayed.

The story does not need a lot of conflict or action to keep you entertained. Sanderson brushes deep topics through the charismatic Spirit.

World building, character development, backstory, everything is perfect. My single complaint is the lead up to the climax of the book is reeeeaallyy long

The author does a good job of setting us in but, sometimes, the chapter is so boring it takes a toll on the reader
