This is a short novel. A mother of the bride - a typical Anne Tyler protagonist: full of doubt but not insecure - rethinks her own marriage and divorce. She is prompted by the unexpected arrival of her ex (plus cat) as a house guest. Laugh out loud funny at times. Warm.
This book was just alright for me. Not overly
I feel like the theme was maybe... Forgiveness. How some people will forgive certain things and some won't, and how we forgive ourselves.
The characters are awkward, the dynamics are awkward.
Loved the cat though, she was the best part.
“A socially awkward mother of the bride navigates the days before and after her daughter's wedding.”
A sweet quick read about a divorced couple reuniting for their daughter's wedding. I really liked it. Strong recommendation! Thanks to NetGalley for the chance to review it.
