Great thriller. Probably worth the hype. Definitely
check trigger warnings. To say some of the topics/
imagery are dark and disturbing is being mild.
I thought it was decently paced. The characters
were flawed in a way that was engaging not
off-putting.
There were some twist that I figured out early and
others that were like... Oh hey there... But not in a..
That's totally unbelievable and doesn't fit red herrin
way.
Would recommend if you can stomach the graphic nature.
This was sadly a DNF for me. I paused it at like 10% my first attempt, and then tried again from the beginning, using both written and audio, but I just could not get into it. DNF at 20%
2.5 rounded up.
Not a bad Christmas story, pretty sure I've seen a movie that was almost identical.
But it isn't really the type of book for me. I like more contemporary romance, where there is a little bit of spice, and and humour and I found this one to be a little bit flat.
I very much enjoyed this book.
I liked how strong a character Evelyn was and how she was so smart and calculated and lived her life for herself. I am not sure if I am supposed to like her or not, but I do.
It is books like this that make me rethink my choice to never read the back of the book. Going in blind every time.
I hated this book. Would have been a DNF has it been any longer.
I found it boring and a terrible story all around. More political then I could have imagined.
