The Hostile Hospital

This was a really boring and disappointing book in the Series of Unfortunate Events. The previous book indicted the format of the book was about to change which was an exciting point for me. However, while the format changed the story slowed down and did not deliver the quick, fun stories I have enjoyed from this series.

Frankly speaking. It's been a minute since I've read this and I don't remember a whole bunch of it. I realised this while reading The Carnivorous Carnival and they brought up details that I couldn't recall. Oh well.

What I do remember is how gutted I felt, seeing that now the kids are ALONE alone. Not like any of their guardians were any use, but still... my kids :c

Also we got Klaus and Sunny quality time! At the expense of, you know, the horrible thing that was about to happen to Violet D:

What more can I say about this series that I haven't already? So The Hostile Hospital was certainly one of the better book in the series so far. What I liked most about it was that Klaus and Sunny had to fend for themselves for a time. It changed the dynamics and forced Sunny to engage in more dialogue—more Sunny dialogue is always a plus.

Otherwise, it was much of the same antics and absurdities told in a fun way. After eight books, I can confidently say I do not love this series. Yet, I cannot help but need to continue to read them. My kids, on the other hand, have absolutely loved them.
