So. Hemingway. I suppose we all come to him eventually. But....I was somehow underwhlemed by this novel. Yes the prose is terse and to the point. Yes his descriptions of the bullfighting and fiesta are visceral. But on the whole....not a lot happens. Maybe that's the point. These people are so lost, so damaged that they just exist, drifting from one drunken adventure to another, never really able to connect with themselves or each other. Lives lived in a void.
So. Hemingway. Will I read any more of his novels? I'm not sure. Maybe one day.
