I used to love the Sisterhood.. and it turns out that I still do. It pulls at every memory I have of my best friends in high school. And I love how Ann Brashares manages to make this story somewhat sappy but not cheesy. It's an emotional roller coaster but one that I was happy to be on. The ending was perfect. The one downfall that I would say the book has is that it takes forever in the grieving phase of the girls after the main tragedy to actually move on. But she wraps everything up so nicely at the end that it made it ok.
My favorite thing about all of these books is how they are told from the point of view of all the girls. It switches back and forth often but seemlessly and makes the story hard to put down.
The first 50 pages were sad and discouraging, but don't let them stop you from reading this amazing book. Brashares always manages to put things into perspective and make me remember what matters. Characters all very relatable. Love this book, and this series.
Several years ago, when I read the first Sisterhood book, I was hooked. The way Ann Brashares writes is the way I love to read. I am captured in her stories immediately and find it difficult to stop (even when I should be sleeping).
Sisterhood Everlasting took me back to Greece, which is one of the main reasons I love the story. The best of each of the characters was captured in this story. I was excited and sad, and hopeful and happy, and then I felt each emotion all over again.
I feel this was a great finish to a great tale. However, if there were a Sisterhood #6, I would definitely read it.
A good ending to the series. This novel was much more adult. I felt like these women were wandering throughout much of the book, which seems real to me.
At first I was angry with this book. I felt like the women were still girls. That they hadn't changed at all, except for Tibby. But then, I just fell into the story.
