I was totally captivated by this story... the the end has thrown me for a loop. Now I need to get the next book ASAP

That cliff hanger at the end. Seriously!

Not nearly as compelling as the first book, but still well-written.

Good continuation of the series. Patti was a solid character in Ghost and her expansion story was fully realized. Didn't like it as much as Ghost, but maybe that was because it lacked some of the dramatic zing. Still very well written and very real and relatable.

Jason Reynolds can do no wrong. I was about to “well actually” him at one point regarding blind handoffs in the 4x800 but he explained it and I realized I'm a jerk. 😂

This was a great read and I thought Patty's voice and her personal struggles came through so clearly. I found myself thinking that the stakes didn't seem quite as high as they did for Ghost, but also I guess that's a commentary on how gender roles/expectations shape kids–Ghost, when faced with a lot of problems at home, acts out, while Patty tries to fix everyone's problems and feels responsible when she can't. It's very believable.
