Bro, this was good!

This was a great comic about two people from two very different worlds: a Star Wars-esque situation where rebels are fighting against an oppressive empire and a peaceful, socialist commune where everyone is accepted and cared for. I loved the message and the art was great!

Of course, Jemisin's world-building is absolute perfection. She totally had me believing this was a real world with real countries and faiths. I'm so intrigued to see where the second book goes!

Why yes it did take me 4 months to read this book which betrays my massive amount of privilege to put it down when it got too upsetting. I challenge anyone to read this and come to the conclusion that what the state of Israel - with the help of americas bombs and money - has been doing to the Palestinians is just and humane.

Oooh this was great! Definitely one to take your time with and not speed read. A great haunted house book and a fantastic debut!!
