I can't count how many times I come back to this series and it makes my day, and I can't wipe the stupid grin off my face if I wanted to <3
I love this book! It is one of the cutest things I have ever read, and I can't wait to read the rest!! The characters are adorable, and as a queer person it felt very real and accurate in how it depicts the complexities of learning your sexuality in your teenage years.
Oh boy, where to begin. Heartstopper is something that I wish I had in High School when I was struggling with my sexuality and getting bullied for who I may or may not love or be attracted to. I wish I had it then so I would know that I was not alone. The way I heavily related to Nick and Charlie both amazes me. They are characters that I will forever cherish and love. Heartstopper will be a series that I forever love and will forever reread as a comfort read.
If you haven't already, please read Heartstopper AND watch the show on Netflix. You won't be disappointed in either. I love them both.
I watched the series before reading so I know what will happen, and all i gotta say is the casting and acting is perfect!
3.5?
very heart-warming
liked how they build a friendship first, Nick being so supportive, and him learning about his sexuality better (altho I think he's still confused at this point)
that ending was so upsetting n I hate to see the boy like that and I hope the other one is gonna make up for it because that wasn't very nice really. (I mean he WAS probably overwhelmed? but still.)
think I'm gonna start the second one right after this
btw Tora? like to see more of her
n I like the art, but at first Charlie's face looked a little weird to me, like in the thriller webcomics
Love this comic and I am so in love with the TV show adaptation! I watched the show before I read the comic/graphic novel because I did not know it was based on anything before I started. I love the story of Nick and Charlie, it is great to see their story unfold in its original format, and I can't wait to get more of their story, in all formats.
Story is great. Charlie and Nick are the cutest. It's such a heartwarming story. I think I might not be into graphic novels though. But that's nothing to do with this piece of art.
It's a lovely, wholesome story and I'm happy it exists. I prefer the live adaptation, it's so well done but still glad I bought and read the series as well though.

This was super cute and sweet! I've been seeing this graphic novel everywhere lately, so when I saw that my public library had copies, I figured I'd give it a shot. I was surprised by how quickly this can be read. This is mostly because there's very little dialogue, and the pages have a lot of blank spaces. However, this is not a bad thing. I think that it adds to the slow build up of feelings for the characters. The ‘silence' allows us as readers to take in the events as they unfold and ‘breathe' in between each scene, which is nice. It feels as though you are a part of the story.
The characters themselves are very loveable, mainly Charlie and Nick (of course). This first volume focused on their blooming friendship despite their apparent differences (Nick is older and in another grade, he's also a jock and very popular, while Charlie is the exact opposite of these things). There wasn't much focus placed on the other characters, except Ben, the default antagonist, but they seemed to be all right and supportive of whatever the situation. Tao's protectiveness over Charlie was especially endearing, and Charlie's older sister was nice too.
So far, this series is off to a good start, and I'm excited to see where it will go.
Beautiful, so sweet, adore both Nick and Charlie, left me feeling giddy with happiness.
Cute little romance. It was my first grafic novel and I liked it a lot.
I really wanted to read it, because I want to watch the serie.
I'm going to read the rest of the serie and then I can start the series!
Can't wait to see this relationship grow in the next novels.
Cute but that's all. Artwork's amateurish and this feeling is compounded by the labeling of characters (readers should be able to tell people apart visually and who they are based on context). TV series def better entertainment.
This is just the cutest thing. I'm not really a graphic novel person but this is just so wholesome and a delight to read.
The most beautiful, sweet, perfect thing I think I have ever read. Gorgeously simple illustrations and an adorable tale of strangers becoming friends and falling in love. Everyone should read this as is just makes you feel warm and fuzzy and makes the world a better place.
THIS BOOK DESERVES MORE HYPE.
I know it already gets a lot of hype, but this gave me more serotonin than anything ever. It was so wholesome and funny and gives you butterflies just by reading the pages.
I think kids of all ages can learn a really valuable lesson from this series, and as I flew through the entire web comic in three days before binging the show, I learned a lot myself.
This book touches on everything: love, doubt, insecurity, mental health. And everything they address is addressed so well that it makes you feel seen. It makes you feel less alone.
Alice Oseman is a genius. And she might as well be a therapist because of how much joy and counsel her comics bring her readers.
The hype is real on this one. This is really cute and wholesome. A great comfort read.
Love love love love love
So stupid for not borrowing the second volume at the same time because I need to continue it now!!
