honestly, this is just me trying to escape into my wedding planner dreams ;__; when my turn !!
ehhhh 3.5? Maybe closer to three.
See, I loved the narrators and I think the writing is really well done, so I would totally recommend this to people. It just wasn't for me. I wanted more present day romance and still have no idea how she changed from adamant she wouldn't get married to wanting to get married. It just... I feel like they barely interacted in the present??? So like, what changed her mind? I just wanted more romance I guess.
But yeah probably a me thing too though because I generally don't like second chance.
This book was the definition of grumpy X sunshine trope, and I loved every minute. My favorite part was how the author wrote their respective POV’s. All of Elliot’s perspective was from the past while all of the present was written from Ama’s point of view. It added so much more depth to the characters and their interactions. I could truly feel how awkward and how laden with meaning every interaction was because I got to see his side first (and all his feelings he had). While I wish I could have known what present day Elliot thought, I think it wouldn’t have been as effective. I honestly wish more books (especially second chance romances) were written like this. I also loved the insane plot points that happened along the way. It was a perfect mix to show how hectic wedding planning is. The big event (and last few chapters) were full of surprises that had me gasping and laughing.
Finally, the chemistry… ooo these two definitely had chemistry. They had tension, good banter, and, most importantly, history. It was the perfect mix honestly. Normally, second chance romances are not my favorite, but this one is the exception. (also probably because there was no cheating involved here. … WHY do the second chance romances always seem to be because someone cheated?!).
I highly recommend this book. It took me by surprise in the best way. And get you a box of donuts before you read. Just trust me.
I did not really like this. It was fine but I didn't like how the story was told with Ama in the present day and Elliot in the past; I don't think it worked well. The characters also fell flat for me. :
Had to wipe my tears descreetly while sitting next to strangers on a flight.
This was a fabulous debut from this author. I gobbled this right up!!!
This is a Dual POV/timeline between the two, past and present and it is done really well. We follow how they are with each other now, but the past POV helps explain why they are so hesitant to be near each other.
Ama and Elliot work in the wedding industry with their businesses, so they often crossed paths.
The commitment-phobe wedding planner, and the heart on his sleeve florist, explore their chemistry. They are together but aren't labelling it at AMA's request. Elliot doesn't want her to freak so he goes along with it but he wants more.

I'm a sucker for a second-chance romance, what can I say. Objectively, this might just come under the five-star mark, but I really connected to this book. I was so invested in Ama's wedding business and seeing what she gonna come up with for the designs. Considering its dual timeline, I didn't think this was gonna be for me, but I could not pass up a second chance trope so I still picked it up. I loved how the romance developed. The author showed really well how their lives intertwined and how they became inseparable. Also, the ending really hit for me. And for the end, let me just say there is some spice in this book.
I loved this romance. I was so fully invested in it, I couldn't put it down from start to finish. Literally kept reading while at a concert. It's spicy, it's sweet. I loved the characters, the setting, the premise, the tropes... all of it.
If you love a guy who falls harder and faster, spicy romances, or any of the tropes listed in the slides, then you should definitely check this book out.
Funnily enough this is not the first enemies to lovers romance I read this year where both characters work on weddings, the guy's career goes differently than expected, one of them is a wedding planner, and they do the deed in a closet during a wedding.
I liked this one more though. Any guesses for what the other one was?
This was a great debut and, so far, one of my favorite romances of the year.
Forget me not is the debut romance of Julie Soto, a sweet and angsty love story between a wedding planner and a florist.
I am usually not a fan of the wedding set up, but it worked well on this book as it perfectly shows how good Ama and Elliot work together, and what a great couple they could become.
The story is told through dual POV, interspersing past and present chapters, and fueling the book with longing and angst.
I really enjoyed this book! It was well written, the characters were layered and interesting and I was rooting for their HEA from the beginning.
I loved to see how both characters were invested in their careers, but able to support and encourage each other, becoming their better selves when working together. My heart was aching for them and I just wanted to see them happy.
Read this if you enjoy steamy second chance romances between a Grump and a Sunshine.
I was thoroughly entertained and recommend its reading to all contemporary romance readers.
I would like to thank HarlerCollins UK, HarperFiction and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
