Lots of fun and very readable, but I thought the writing could have been a bit better.
nothing hugely wrong with this book, I'm probably just about 20 years too old to enjoy it.
What a clever book! It is fun and makes you think. It has team building and friendships. It is really one of the most fun books that I have read in a while.
I thought there would be puzzles I could solve, but not enough info was provided to do so.
This was a cute little pro-reading book for kids. The core messages: work together and read books, were a little heavy-handed for an adult reader. The puzzles were cute, but relatively slim (the characters solved any of the puzzles quite quickly, so the reader didn't have a lot of time to puzzle through.) It's hard to tell as an adult reader whether this will hold up to true classics of the genre, such as the Westing Game, but I'll definitely get it for my daughter when she's old enough.
Read this with my 4th & 5th grade discussion group - Everyone enjoyed it.
It is a cute book that reminds me greatly of “Charlie and the Chocolate factory” by Roald Dahl. We had a great discussion! It would be great if we read the follow up “Mr. Lemoncello's Library Olympics” sometime in the future.
I think maybe I would have enjoyed this a bit more had I read it instead of listened to it. There were many places where the author would list several books titles or authors or numbers, whatever and “Huh?” is repeated all too often. Listening to someone list things and say “huh” is....uninspired.
That being said, the story itself was cute, but I wasn't absorbed in the story. I definitely think maybe younger grader schoolers would like it much more.
I think 4th/5th grade me would have really enjoyed this. Can see some 4-6th graders liking it, though the librarian-ness was too heavy handed. I did really like the constant references to other great kids books. I know some kids will seek out some of those titles.
oh my gosh, how delightful! This book is like a mashup of Westing Game + Willy Wonka + Mixed Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler. So funny and clever. Great for tweens who like funny books, mysteries, and THE LIBRARY <3
A delightful book which I thoroughly enjoyed reading. I loved the book and author references and the extensive use of the Dewey Decimal System.

I frakking LOVED this book. It reminded me very much of the first time I read Willy Wonka- a little crazy, a page turning adventure, and super fun to read. This is a book for book lovers. Love, love, loved it.
