4.75 ⭐️ because i enjoyed the story, but i found myself a bit bored sometimes.
Still loved chapter 44-45 and when i thought that rhys was dead i started crying. overall great book but not a five star read like ACOMAF
Not going to lie- after completely devouring A Court of Thorns and Roses and then A Court of Mist and Fury this one took me a while to get through. (Small note I did also have a baby shortly after starting this book so reading became a back burner item). It was harder for me to get through than the first two books but I am so glad I was able to jump back in and fully immerse myself into this book and finish it. It was more action packed towards the last half of the book and I feel it was emotionally deeper than the first two just because of the nature of events that are happening during this part of the series. Overall, S.J.M. provided another wonderful escape from reality with the third installment of the ACOTAR series.
I loved this. This is my favourite book so far of the series, Mist & Fury being a very close second. I loved the surprises, the tension, the romance, the whole thing. Would absolutely recommend reading it!
the best fantasy book ive ever read and one of my favorites of the year this book had be sobbing
The last third of this book had me sweating I was so stressed out. Then the last 10 chapters or so....it was just too much.
Did all the people who gave this more than 3 stars read the same book? Excuse me, SLOG through the same book. It took me almost 8 weeks to finish this. I read 28 other books because I kept putting this down. I almost gave up and DNF so many times.
My feelings for almost every character I had come to like turned meh or into outright hate. Except for Lucien because he was lucky enough to not even be present through like 3/4 of the book. And the Archeron sisters have been annoying in all 3 books so nothing new there.
Other popular 1 and 2 star reviews sum up my disgust and frustration so I can just be done.
If I decide to be forgiving enough to pick up the 4th book and Nesta isn't given an immediate attitude adjustment though I will nope right on outta there.
Ugh, you have to read this book. It's so good! I can see why people love the 1st 2 books so much because you get to see Feyre interact with her beaus one-on-one. Book 3 is very much, let's explore what lies beyond Feyres knowledge and dive more into the war, the Fae alliances at large, and historical accounts of the courts and individuals in this story.
Girl this book is so long and it's so dense with new characters and these unique relationships we get glimpses of.
I feel like I need a family tree at this point with a glossary of who is who. We dive into how large this world is and it is overwhelming in a way I can't keep up but I enjoy being introduced to new characters.
Not to throw shade, this book feels like it's trying to give LOTR, but if certain characters don't keep popping up in the story and we just see them in passing, the lore between the characters feels like fluff. Right? Again, no shade, just acknowledging how large this world is and what characters may matter more down the road.
I love the messy relationship entanglements!!! It's so sad who all has lost loves, and we see so many layers to the High Fae. Who would've thought there was LGBTQIA+ representation here?? Okay ally!
Also, the ending, SHUT THE HELL UP!! I can't believe you would do that Sarah J Maas!! You are sending me!!! NOOOOOO!
But I love it!
3.5 ⭐️ this one just didn't grab me as much as the other ones, it was super slow at times but also super fast at times. the ending def saved it and earned that .5 stars from me lol
still going to continue to read tho bc i love this world
I have mixed feelings about this one. There were parts I didn't like and parts I loved but by the end I was ready to move onto something different. I think I'm gonna take a break from this series and read something different instead of forcing my way through. PS the Archeron sisters are getting on my nerves 😅
The first third of the book was such a drag, I could have done without all the fluff. The ending was so good.
The number of times this book had the word mate, male and female is obscene. No one who uses male and female in any context other than medical has good intentions. Their vibe ain't right, and I would have disliked the book even more hadn't there been a queer character, a token queer but a queer nonetheless.
Very meh. There was so much that happened but also felt like nothing happened at all. Characters seem very juvenile, which didn't make sense for 500+ yr old beings. Some interesting plotlines were hinted at but never explored. Wouldn't have known how powerful the characters beside being told every other chapter. Most of the book was just repeated events and dialogue.
i looooveeeee this book so much . this series currently holds such a big part of my heart and it is so hard for me to put down ! so excited to start the next one :)
While I am still into the series and like that I'm getting a little more depth into some side characters, I found this book was a little long and a little repetitive with some storylines.
The second book has been best so far.
I thought about taking a star off each review for how many times a “vulgar gesture” is mentioned. Not the act itself. It is constantly referred to as just a “vulgar gesture” and it annoys the hell out of me.
The ending was by far the best part. I stayed up late until I finished it, and cried several times.
Too much plot armor—to the point where every character who dies is then immediately resurrected. Too long.
This book was worse than ACOMAF but better than ACOTAR, so 2.5 stars it is. The war stuff was boring. And Feyre and Rysand are so boring.
Before I get into my review I have to give thanks to Destiny for finally getting me to carry on with this series.
I can't really say a whole lot because this is the 3rd book in the series and I don't want to spoil anything even though I am pretty sure I am the last person who hasn't read this series yet. I have to say I really enjoyed this book. I want to say this might even be my favorite of the series so far although I really loved ACOMAF so maybe it's a tie.
There is a lot of character development for several of the characters in this book as well as several twists I didn't see coming. This book will have you on the edge of your seat and it will probably rip your heart out a few times in the process too. It did pull at my heartstrings but surprisingly I never ended up crying. I'm so loving this series and I can't wait to pick up the next book.
This book made me have so many emotions in the end!!!
From oh f*** to crying because of the appearance and death of their father to happy af to the winning then the wtf of Rhys death then relief when they bring him and Armen back.
This series is so good!!! Onto the next.
