Full of tropes and reuse of ideas from other books, but put together in a fun and interesting way. Fluffy, but enjoyable. :)
It's getting hard to keep track of the different species of supernatural creatures, but the underlying romance stories are still unique and good. :)
good story
Cute story, good romantic/mystery balance. But wrong words were hard to overlook.
Still don't know much about her looks either.
This book couldn't really decide whether it was a cozy mystery, a shifter/paranormal, or some kind of slow burn romance. But somehow it was charming and engaging in spite of itself, and I find myself wondering about the sequel. :-)
I know part of the conflict was her building relationships with her mates, but I found myself tired of the sex scenes, but the “supernatural war” story mentioned in the blurb, I liked that. So I just fast forwarded through the sex scenes.
The rest of it was pretty decent!
I love every volume more!!
Fun fantasy aspects, great growing relationships among diverse kids, and unique solutions to problems. Great stuff, the only thing I don't like is I am running out!
WOW. This makes up for every bit of slowness in the previous books. This went by so fast, there was so much happening!
This one was a little weirder, it wasn't set in roughly the “real world”, but it was fun in the end, and I really liked how they solved the actual problem.
Love these. But just when they whole UNIVERSE was open to them, it ended! Luckily, the author says there's possibilities for more. Phew! :D
Ohh, I liked this a lot, and just when I thought the ending was going to be sad, it wasn't, and it was uplifting instead. <3
So good!! Truly unique science fiction stories, plus a short story resolving a tiny unresolved thread from All the Birds in the Sky. I think I have a new favorite author to add to my list. ;-)
So good! Nice complex story with plausible historical connections, with a true tearjerker happy ending!
The dialogue was terrible. The female portrayals were questionable and weirdly motivated, if at all. Some of this is cultural or bad translation or a suboptimal audiobook narrator. Either way, no, thank you. There are multiple sequels and no thank you.
I picked it off Audible on a whim and it turned out to be really fun!
Merged review:
I picked it off Audible on a whim and it turned out to be really fun!
This was SO fun! Loved it! Enough logistics to make it plausible, enough emotional content to make it “human”. I'm excited for the next one! :D
ReRead. still love it. :)
Darker and less magical than the last book, but still really good! And a great opening for the next book!
Good! Seemed so short after Acheron, but a good complex story. Not sure how I feel about her introducing entirely new elements with the obvious intent of extending the series, but they were okay.
This is excellent. The underdog stands up and learns that his world is not so narrow as he thought.
Light fun!
A bunch of girls as different as day and night to go Camp and have adventures! but what's really lurking in the woods?!
This was really fun! Complex enough story, lots of interesting side characters, well-knitted together into a good mystery.
