I REALLY liked this book. It sums up nicely all the things I hate about the positive-thinking push, from the implication that if you can't “manifest” it then you must not be trying hard enough, to the tendency to overlook obvious warnings signs. Oh, and the “no complaining” rule which never made any sense to me, seeing and discussing problems is how you find solutions. I honestly can't say enough, if you ever wanted to understand me, go read this (and yes, power through her grumpiness about cancer-culture, it's not her best chapter but the rest of the book is better).
ALSO, goes into the history of the movement, where it came from and how it got there, along with pitfalls along the way.
Honestly, there was some bad grammar and a few contrived situations, but mostly it all flowed very naturally and the characters were very engaging. I enjoyed it and will proceed to the next book at some point! :)
Wow. Beautiful and terrible, lovely and horrifying. Loved this. (and don't be afraid to read it, there's enough light in the darkness to keep it from smothering you. ;) )
Fun but a little too much possession and taking over her life. I will not be pursuing the rest of the series.
Aww. As the rest of the world goes kind of haywire and everything is chaotic, and the author introduces yet more species and politics, The sweet love story still shines bright. :-)
I really liked this. Good solid plot, plenty of twists and turns, magic and found-family.
Love it! Magical children, magical world, queer love story. And a perfectly sensible reason for not having to world-build the entire world, saving the writer all that work but also keeps the book from being too long. :)
Most paranormal romances at least a little bit silly. This is way over the top ridiculous. I mean that in a good way! Very fun, a quick read while I was home sick.
The main plot was a little fuzzy this time, but the story arc that is going on around it is getting more and more intriguing.
(abridged Audible version)
Huh. awful lot of psychology in this. definitely interesting stuff, especially the bits on defining your values and then how to prioritize living by them! Good to know!
fun!
A bit more serious than I expected from the title, but good! Got it on stuff your kindle day and it's Great for a free book!
That was a wild ride! So many twists and turns, and all of it excellent!!
I'm seriously going to have to bother this author on Instagram about a sequel !!
I think this is my favorite one so far. Development into a “person“ is just SO well done. Adventure part of the story was also amazing.
The story was so disturbing to me that I couldn't just listen to several hours at a go, I had to do short chunks. But lessons and wisdom and interesting perspectives. Mind widening with a crowbar!

Yeah, you really get about 25% of the way through the book before you stop hating the main character. Even then it's much darker than I anticipated. Not for children.
I love these books. Those words are inadequate. They are dark fantasy, a bit TOO dark for my usual taste but so rich and the world is so well developed. I just love them.
Sometimes I can see why a classic is a “classic”. this was okay, full of history and change, but definitely not my thing. Meh.
Long epic history of robots and their integration into society. Interesting stuff.
