I very great book that teaches you the principles left by God in His Word that must be applied and lived out in order to be in position to receive God's blessings and promises.
Oh, the irony... Reading a book about “Understanding Watchman Nee” written by a person who doesn't seem to really understand his teachings...
I absolutely devoured The Island at the Edge of Night! Lucy Strange has done it again, crafting a story that's both chilling and captivating. The atmosphere on the remote Scottish island is palpable - I felt like I was wrapped in the mist and the ancient call of nature, alongside Faye.
The mystery at the heart of the story is deliciously dark and intriguing. I was hooked from the very first page, desperate to uncover the secrets hidden within the story. The characters are complex and believable, and I found myself rooting for Faye and her friends as they navigated the treacherous world she found herself in.
I particularly loved the way the author weaves together elements of the supernatural with the gritty reality of life in the 1930s. If you enjoy a good mystery with a touch of the gothic, this book is an absolute must-read.
One of the first books I read from the children's shelves at the new local central library. I enjoyed reading it at night, deepening myself into the story.
I love authors that invest time in creating interesting, intriguing and unique characters. I enjoy reading a book in which the relationships between the characters are well developed and it's not all just about the action. ALICE AND THE FLY is one of these books - James Rice did an excellent job at painting, with words, the portrait of a dysfunctional family typology, combining drama with moments of humour. While the book catches the reality of mental illness and the relationship between that and the environment of childhood and family, it also brings up questions about life, authenticity and love.
What an easy, yet heart-warming read. I enjoyed reading this book in one Sunday afternoon. It definitely reminded me of the true treasures of life (family, friends) and it also offered a 1h reading entertainment for rainy days. (It also had some great drawings inside)
Robert Jackson Bennett delivers again with a tightly wound, razor-sharp murder mystery, set in a bio-punk-fantasy world, that's as thought-provoking as it is addictive. A Drop of Corruption pulls no punches — the world-building is eerily plausible, the dialogue crisp, and the plot unrelenting. Weaving political intrigue, moral ambiguity, and suspense into a story that feels both timely and timeless. I couldn't put it down. A must-read for fans of smart, speculative fiction with a noir edge.
This is a powerful book on authority and prayer. I liked it so much that I had to read it twice. What I liked a lot at this book was that the whole book contains stories from the author's life and others' lives that help you understand things better. Another nice thing is the way the author gets the message to you - in a cool and non-boring way!
I loved this book so much as a kid. And that's the first book I've tried to read in Hungarian, as a 6 year old (Romanian being my native language, and Hungarian my mother-tongue).
Meh... It is overly simplistic, repetitive, has little merit into the real world and was annoying to read. This book could have said everything in 20 pages but instead dragged it out to 200. WHAT WHY HOW, these 3 words were capitalised almost every time they were used and placed in every non example part of the book. I am glad to be done with it!
This was an interesting book that I really enjoyed reading - I didn't put it down till I finished reading it, in one day. :)
Definitely enjoyed this second book just like I did the first one. Such an imagination-booster!
An extremely enjoyable read! Beautifully crafted characters, intriguing mystery plots, and an imaginative storyline - definitely a must read. Cannot wait to read the 2nd book in this series!
One of my favorite books written by Agatha Christie, ‘Sad Cypress' is a great book with fascinating characters and story line. After finding out there's a movie, too, I watched it and love the book even more. Especially the main character.
I find it hard to get into the book because the writing feels a bit disjointed at times, jumping from one thing to the next without any explanation. There seems to be quite a solid plot and I do find the characters interesting, but I've decided to take a break and revisit later.

What a great book. Enjoyed the story as well as the gothic setting and the dialogue between the characters. Definitely one of my childhood favourites.
