I've just joined my first book club and this was the read chosen.
An interesting tale set against the backdrop of nightclubs in London in the early 1900s.
Enjoyed the characterisation though still a little confused by the ending.
Looking forward to chatting with book club this week to find out if others figured it out because I want to know!
An absolute page-turner!
Once I dived into the lives of Gabe and Pippa, a seemingly normal married couple, I couldn't look away.
Once again Sally Hepworth delivers a readably, voyeuristic look at everyday life, but with hidden depths that make you not want to put the book down.
Devoured it in a weekend.
Thoroughly enjoyed!
Couldn't put this down.
A raw, unflinching, contemporary YA about a group of 18 year old school leavers who head off for a week of fun, only to discover being stuck on an island together brings emotions and conflicts to the surface in a devastating way.
It's a quintessentially Aussie novel and the author's voice shines through on every page.
Highly recommend.
This creepy gothic had me turning pages into the night (while slightly scared!)
Beatriz marries Rodolfo, whose first wife died in mysterious circumstances, to escape her hard life and is whisked away to his hacienda.
There she meets Padre Andres, who she's drawn to.
The hacienda is pure evil and the mysterious secondary characters add an extra level of spookiness in this riveting read.
Absolutely LOVED this!
I've read all Emily's books and this one, her third, is her best.
Nora and Charlie are the classic enemies to lovers but so much more...
Nora's a literary agent, Charlie's an editor, and I loved a book revolving around the publishing industry (which is such a huge part of my life!)
Loved seeing the relationship between Nora and her sister Libby unfold too.
I'm a big banter fan and this book has it in spades! Loved the snappy sparring between Nora and Charlie so much.
5 stars!
If you enjoy slow burn friends to lovers, you'll love this book!
Alex and Poppy are best friends who vacation with each other once a year and have for the last decade. They're so close that anyone, particularly the reader, can see they're made for each other!
You'll want to see them get together much earlier in the book, like I did, but the build up is worth it.
Alex is such a wonderfully ‘real' character and Poppy is cute.
Such a lovely escapist read.
It's guaranteed that a Kylie Scott romance hero will make you drool and this book is no exception.
Garrett is a grieving rockstar who moves to a small town to escape his demons.
His neighbour, Ani, is a recluse for her own reasons.
I loved the push-pull dynamic between these two anti-romantics.
And when they get together...steamy!
A quick, enjoyable read.
And please, Smith's story next. Loved him too!
