This is very obviously written by a designer. It looks good, but it is a nightmare to read because of the noisy placement of text and other elements. Do not pick up this one if you're learning this stuff from scratch. I used it as a refresher and to get up to speed on html5.
Content-wise it's getting a bit dated. It covers css3, or at least part of it. CSS grid isn't covered.
This guy did behavior analysis before it was cool ;P
I'm actually pretty positive to Taylor's system, having read this. I suspect his bad reputation is from no real fault of his, but rather failed implementations. Although today there is a massive amount of data from general experimental analysis of behavior, that could further improve any enterpise to enormous heights.
There are a bit too much romantizing of nature in this book. I find I'm leafing through pages to find the interesing bits. HOWEVER, it describes the problem with economy very well, and shows that the price of living weren't, and isn't in proportion to what it it actually costs. He went out into the woods and built a house for himself for less - or about the same - than he would spend on rent for a room at a college for a year.
If not for the excess nature-loving, I'd give this one five stars.
He has a bit of interesting philosophical musings as well; the people he met, thoughts he's had while there alone in the woods.
