There are a bit too much romantizing of nature in this book. I find I'm leafing through pages to find the interesing bits. HOWEVER, it describes the problem with economy very well, and shows that the price of living weren't, and isn't in proportion to what it it actually costs. He went out into the woods and built a house for himself for less - or about the same - than he would spend on rent for a room at a college for a year.
If not for the excess nature-loving, I'd give this one five stars.
He has a bit of interesting philosophical musings as well; the people he met, thoughts he's had while there alone in the woods.
