See allAlosa still has her strong personality, but the story felt repetitive and lacked the excitement I expected. The pacing dragged in places, and the plot didn't feel as sharp or engaging as the first book. Riden continued to be a bland love interest, which didn't help the romance feel believable or compelling. Overall, it was hard to stay invested, and it just didn't live up to its potential.
The female lead, Alosa, is strong, smart, and a lot of fun to follow—definitely the highlight of the book. The premise is exciting and full of potential, and the writing is fantastic—it really pulls you into the world and keeps the pages turning. That said, the male lead, Riden, felt a bit bland and forgettable, which made their chemistry fall a little flat. Overall, it's an entertaining story with great writing, but the romance didn't quite hit the mark.
I really enjoyed the strong female lead—she's bold, ambitious, and totally owns every scene she's in. The tension and chemistry between the main characters are definitely a highlight and kept me hooked. However, the villain was a bit of a letdown and didn't bring as much conflict or complexity as I was hoping for. Still, the book was engaging and fun overall, and I'd recommend it if you're into dark fantasy with a sharp, confident heroine.
