Alosa still has her strong personality, but the story felt repetitive and lacked the excitement I expected. The pacing dragged in places, and the plot didn't feel as sharp or engaging as the first book. Riden continued to be a bland love interest, which didn't help the romance feel believable or compelling. Overall, it was hard to stay invested, and it just didn't live up to its potential.
