listened to this audiobook while being told to k*ll myself on twitter because I said I hated Julian blackthorn.. not the greatest combo. I no longer have a twitter
im happy this series is finally ending but im also surprisingly sad?? who knew that I (the person who hasn't connected with a series in years) would get connected and love a series about rich people fighting for 3 books. Its ADDICTING.
Astrid if ur reading this.... I love you
Average but makes me want to read the second book still
this book reminded me why I hate YA boys
the most disturbing book I've ever read and would not recommend to anyone who is easily affected by rape/murder/pedos described in detail.
oh and that ending...
loved the rawness of it all, the author was truly digging into her heart when she wrote this.
great cast of characters too!
2nd re-read better than the 1st. I'm so in love with this series and I need to read them again!
very very very below average.
My favourite genre (or sub genre i suppose) is supernatural horror set in houses AKA haunted houses.
I also love horror novels but this book just fell very flat.
The main character is not a good person, she treats everyone around her like trash (like shes yelled at multiple strangers she only just met because they didn't magically know about her childhood) and shes very very VERY dumb.
Comedy was thrown in at the worst times. I love comedy in horror novels (thank u stephen king) but not when your near death.. it just takes me out of the story and atmosphere.
Neil was a big pushover. Grow a backbone and stand up for yourself Neil...like seriously???
It read like a middle grade book which is not a good thing when the story is very gruesome and meant for adults.
Maybe i just read this during a bad time. I'm living through a natural disaster right now, my house might be submerged any day now and a lot of people have died from it so far so i was using this book as a distraction from everything going on around me which might of impacted me.
i was hoping this would scare me more than the heavy rain outside but no.
I read this in a rocking chair which is ironic as a rocking chair is a common occurrence in this book so whenever the creepy lady in the chair showed up.. it felt like i was her because i was also slowly rocking in a creaky rocking chair.. idk but it was fun lol
Sorry to the library security guard who walked behind me when the book was open on a very graphic sex scene and started walking faster
Nothing happened in this book and the plot twist was very predictable. I kinda enjoyed it though, it's boring but I was somehow entertained. By what? I don't even know.
I was excited to read another Nina Lacour book but it didn't live up to how good Everything Leads To You (her other book) was.
Btw I'm lucky I read Jane eyre because this book has tiny Jane eyre spoilers everywhere so warning for that lol
it was better than I expected
also I loved how it didn't have the expected ending, I love endings like this
in love with all these characters ! ! so much character development in such a short book !
loved the writing and cant wait to read more books from this author :)
the ending was... ok
it was reaaaally good until the last 60 pages so now it's just a solid 3 star book, i will be reading the sequels as i think this author can write really good (attractive) male characters... yep that's the only reason
Ehh.. didn't really like it because of the writing but everyone says her other books are a million times better so I can't wait to read more from this author!
My sister is aboriginal and blak, so I was raised seeing how she was treated just because of her race and culture, so terrible.
I started reading this after I got my first dose so I couldn't really focus, I read the rest today but the day after the first dose... absolutely horrible. I feel like I'm dying. So I have to give this book another chance because I feel like my mind wasn't focused when I read this so I'll definitely come back to this book another time !!
it fell flat.. just boring characters, boring dialogue.. it was alright but i just didnt care
books set in Australia are always one of a kind to me as its my home and reading books set in australia is a huge comfort
characters were great but story... ehhh
a re-read well needed! I really understood this more this time around and it made me like it more.
its a Colleen Hoover book so obviously I have to comment on the writing style, I LOVE IT as usual. I haven't read a hoover book in foreeeever
[3rd re-read]
AHHHHHHJHAGJHHGAJHGHHHHHHHAHJSGHJAGSUYGJHHHAHHHHHHH i missed this series so much. I missed my man haymitch the most, i've been fighting for his prequel novel like my life depends on it and i won't give up. He is an icon.
we all have our favourite books and yeah we do get upset if others don't like them but we accept it but..... i can literally not think of a reason why someone could rate this book any less than 5 stars. I can't even wrap my head around the fact that there are people out there that have rated this book 4 stars.. this is how i know we live in a horrid and evil world.
I can't wait to re-read catching Fire. THAT BOOK IS THE BLUEPRINT. YA wouldn't be what it is today without Catching Fire. it INVENTED literature. Catching fire is THE BEST novel out there and i won't accept any other opinion. fight with ur mum about it idc
anyways the hunger games remains on the throne of YA and it will NEVER been dethroned, trust me.
3.75 but i'm iffy about the book rn and i might lower to a 3.5 idk
Great story telling but very very very repetitive, it got too much at some points.
The main character was really annoying at times and yes her haircut did suck
Ellen Hopkins never lets me down when I want to read something life changing.
The mormon lifestyle is a controversial topic, I live in Australia where there is only 150,000 mormons so i've never met one but from what i see online.. it scares me.
The lifestyle looks like it has its good but the bad is really bad.
I'll have to do more research i guess.
it's one of those books where you don't remember anything that happened in it in a weeks time and in a years time you won't even remember if you read it or not... it's a very flat book.
The characters felt kinda real but everything else just fell flat.
I can relate to the main character bc mental issues, dead father, sister who tells me to k*ll myself, ghosting the men who confess they like me..etc etc
so that was cool I guess
idk... very flat. 100 cakes and they never made one that sounded appetising. Where is the chocolate cake???
Reading rush 2019- Book 2
3.5 stars!
I was going to rate this 2.5 stars but the ending changed my mind and nearly made me cry.
I never want to think of this book bc I might cry but I still have the sequel to read so what are the chances of me crying when reading the next book? 99%
