Sometimes you don't wake up. But if you happen to, you know things will never be the same.
Three lives, three different paths to the same destination: Aspen Springs, a psychiatric hospital for those who have attempted the ultimate act—suicide.
Vanessa is beautiful and smart, but her secrets keep her answering the call of the blade.
Tony, after suffering a painful childhood, can only find peace through pills.
And Conner, outwardly, has the perfect life. But dig a little deeper and find a boy who is in constant battle with his parents, his life, himself.
In one instant each of these young people decided enough was enough. They grabbed the blade, the bottle, the gun—and tried to end it all. Now they have a second chance, and just maybe, with each other's help, they can find their way to a better life—but only if they're strong and can fight the demons that brought them here in the first place.

Reading rush 2019- Book 2
3.5 stars!
I was going to rate this 2.5 stars but the ending changed my mind and nearly made me cry.
I never want to think of this book bc I might cry but I still have the sequel to read so what are the chances of me crying when reading the next book? 99%
Really great. I loved all the characters, except that Dahlia person. Hated her. And I kept wishing for Vanessa to get with Conner, just because I think that would've kept him from trying(and succeeeding) to commit suicide and I felt really sorry for him. But I'm glad all the characters ended up happy, even Conner because he was happy that he died..
Three teens. One “treatment” center. Different issues, mental strains and heart pains. Take a trip in the mind of Connor, Tony and Vanessa as they reveal their tortured thoughts, heartbreaking secrets and open themselves to the vulnerabilities that brings home who they really are...
Holy cow...this was certainly a thought-provoking, sweet and yet devastating read. I saw the ending coming but that didn't make it any less painful to read.
I haven't read anything by Ellen Hopkins before but I'm telling you this is just the beginning. I know most won't enjoy it or appreciate an entire book written in verse but I absolutely loved it. If you want something different and outside what you're used to but at the same time want it to be sincere....raw....this is that book.
