I think the cover made me want one type of book, but it isn't that. Also, i think it was overhyped on social media.
There was some psychological tones here, but it wasn't the creepy cabin in the woods vibe I wanted.
I also didn't love the characters. Which took me even further out of the story
I don't love everything about these books, but I love the characters and banter and relationships enough to keep reading them.
I love the rom com part, but could personally do with a little less darkness. I don't even mind implied darkness, but I don't need as much graphic details. It was easier to read this one, knowing what I was getting into, as I flew blind into the first one.
As crazy as the trigger warnings (or what I like to call the smut menu) are on this one, Brynne came through on all of them.
If you are an audiobook fan, I highly recommend the audio for this. The voice for our main MMC is just, chefs kiss. And it's duet narration which I really enjoy. The laughing was a bit hard to listen to, but other than that, no notes.
This book was not was I expected, given the tiktoks I had seen about it.
It was more juvenile than I expected, no spice, and I felt like the whole thing just fell flat.
Since I am the type to buy a whole series before even reading book one, I have two more of these to read, but I'm not necessarily in a hurry to get to them
I feel like I want to love these books, the hockey organization, the friend groups, but the amount I like them is overshadowed by the moments that make me feel, cringy.
There is stuff I enjoy, but the stuff I don't really brings me out of it. I don't love a 17 year old in the friend group, I don't love that the MMC, who is best friends with the FMC's dad uses “little girl” sometimes... There had to be a better choice, and as bad as I thought that was, it was worst when she called him Daddy Hollis. Although the age gap doesn't bother me, the ages and life stages sort of did.

Well ... I didn't know what to expect, but it wasn't this.
I was into the storyline, I wanted to learn what had happened on the island. I enjoyed the characters. But the dark, was dark.
Do I love a ... I would burn the world for you... Kind of love, yes. Do I care if bad things are done to honour your woman, no.
But holding her head under water, shark infested water at that, while you fuck her.... Not my kind of spice. And saying how tight she feels when close to death, it's a bit much.
Being more into the story than the spice surprised me. And i am happy to report I didn't come out of this book with any new kinks, which is a relief.
This was my second billionaire romance and I found it much better than the first.
I liked both MCs, flaws and all.
There is mention of depression, attempted suicide and emotional abuse, so beware of that if those are triggers. They are present throughout the story, but they aren't overly detailed.
I like that we have a will and to earn the inheritance, each of the 3 brothers needs to complete a task. I think it's a great way to be able to have a multi book family series and be invested in it.
The spunk and chutzpah of the FMC was great. And how she chose to view the world a certain way was nice to read, instead of her being extra closed off and cold.
A good level of banter and spice for me as well.
Billionaire romances aren't one of my go to tropes, but I wanted to try some Lauren Asher books.
What I normally don't like about billionaire romances is there is normally a big power advantage for the male, but the FMC here was financially successful in her own right and enjoyed the perks his money could provide but it wasn't like she needed it. Which was nice to see.
Decent storyline, fine characters, anxiety and depression representation. Some spice.
Overall an average read for me.

I forgot how much I loved Mhairi's writing style and characters. This book had a much heavier subject matter than most of the other books I've read from her, but her writing style made it easier to get through.
I enjoyed the FMC and MMC and thought the female friendships were well done.
3.5 rounded down.
Overall I enjoyed this book, and I like the side chapters. The idea of the plot was good, however there were some pretty big issues that were glazed over for the characters and the disagreements/misunderstandings throughout didn't seem like they would be easily overcome.
I also thought it was about 100 pages too long.

So, on a whim I purchased 3 of Rachel Harrison's books, and I didn't realize exactly what I was getting into.
The covers make me think I am going to get a fun, cozy horror book, if that's even a thing, however what they seem to be is a lecture on feminism poorly disguised in a book about supernatural creatures.
The two FMCs were both insufferable in their own ways, one too whiney, one too irresponsible, and I just didn't enjoy it at all.
Loved this one too, even though it combines two of my least favorite tropes. Which means it had to be good.
I think what I really appreciate in Elsie Silver's books is the slow burn, yearning, and banter. She writes women that are strong and funny, not damsels in distress. And her men, are men and when they fall, they fall hard.
Did I think a bull rider romance was for me, no.
Was it for me, yes, yes it was.
I didn't love the long hair on our MMC, but, when that's my biggest complaint about a book. We have a winner.
Love, spice and plot.
I love Elsie Silver's writing style. I like her FMCs and the banter she has between her characters. I can't wait to dive into the rest of this series.
Basically read in one sitting.
It's everything I love about rom coms. Tessa Bailey is an automatic must buy for me and this gave me everything I've come to love and expect from her.
Sig is a wonderful book boyfriend and I can't wait to read the next big shots book. I love that an orgasm donor is up next to find love!
Some of my friends (cough Katie cough) don't like novellas and give me shit for reading them. But if you know what you are signing up for with a short short/novella, good ones can be wondeful.
I loved this one. The MMC is wonderful and sweet and thoughtful. And the FMC has issues that are warranted. The side characters were also great.
This book wasn't it for me.
I find self help books a very tricky thing for me. I find that some are written so well, that you can take the information you want and glaze over the rest. And other just feel like humble brags with little information to grab on to, and other information that you so strongly disagree with that it taints your whole view of the book.
This book turned out to be one that went too far off course for me to get much out of it.
I really enjoyed this book.
I loved the MMC, so yummy. Sweet and caring, but also so hot in the bedroom. I would expect nothing less from one of my favorite booktok accounts!
The FMC was also well done. Not whiney, damaged from a previous relationship but handled that trauma well in the new relationship.
Loved that there wasn't a unless, unneeded “miscommunication” in the last 15% of the book. That annoys me so much, so it was amazing to read a book without that.
As a fan of Greek mythology, I really enjoyed this book. I feel as though I can't put into words what I liked about it.
I found it was beautifully written, I loved Circe's fierceness and her ability to have compassion when needed. Her growth during her lifetimes, her ability to be alone and her ability to lean on others at times was wonderful to read.
3.5 Rounded Down.
I liked the 3 timelines in the book, and I liked that we have a right place, wrong time, where no one cheated, but they held out hope for a potential to meet again.
I hated all the dirty dancing references
I also didn't love all the drama between the two MCs. I feel like we could have gotten the same vibes with less deceit and secrets.
