I enjoy Emily's writing. I find the banter is always good, and the writing is engaging.
I personally don't love a second chance romance, as sometimes I find it hard to root for the couple to get back together. Sometimes I feel like they overlook important differences just to get a happy ending, but in this book, there was enough growth that seeing Harry and Wyn end up together didn't annoy me.
I did think there was more “little dramas” or small inconveniences/misunderstandings between all the characters then was needed, but not enough that they took away from the overall vibe of the book.
I don't know what I was expecting from this book. I think more witchiness, more humor and a little more creeping.
Maybe I would have enjoyed it more if I had no expectations when starting it, but it just fell sort of flat for me.
Way too long for a rom com. We could have gotten from point A to point B in a lot less pages, without losing much from the story.
I enjoyed the characters, main and side, the setting, the mingling of sports, but if felt very repetitive.
The plot was good, the spice was good. I am interested to read the next book to see if it feels less drawn out and repetitive.
I didn't enjoy this book, and I am trying to decide why.
I think it tried to do too much, making things feel rushed or unfinished, at the same time being too redundant.
There wasn't a single character that I liked, besides Layla.
3.5 rounded down.
There were parts of this book I really enjoyed but more that were just okay.
It seemed a little too focused on the academia hierarchy than I was expecting and it felt long to me.
The characters were okay. Some good banter. But I feel like I wanted more of the parts that were glossed over (like her job at Faux) and less focus on the education politics.
If you are into academia/stem this is probably a must read for you.
I enjoyed this book. It is a 3.5, rounded down.
I had figured out a few things early, and found it a little long and ... Like certain things were drug out.
But the overall story is good, and there are twist that will surprise a lot of people I think.
This book wasn't for me.
I went into this book blind, as I always do, and didn't realize it was a rapunzel retelling. But that was obvious pretty quickly.
This book was filled with the worst, most annoying angst. I didn't enjoy it. I thought the world building was poor, so you couldn't visualize the story in your mind very well.
I felt like the witch and vampire aspect was used to draw in readers, but they weren't deep character with rich histories.
It felt like a story written by a teen girl, that had a crush on her best friend and didn't know how to vocalize it, and being witches and vampires were an afterthought

Not my normal read. Multiple POV and timelines. Historical fiction.
However, I enjoyed it. It was great at what it was. Perfect for this time of year.
Might be a hard read for those who have been a victim of domestic violence or had issues around pregnancy/conception.
I think this book had so much potential but it turned out to be boring, tangled, repetitive and an ending that I didn't love
This was what I have come to expect from a Jasmine Guillory book.
Strong FMC who is career driven, great spice, and a happy ending.
I did not enjoy this book as much as “The Wedding Date” series. I found the characters in those books more humours and likeable. Not that these characters weren't likeable, I just didn't find it as strong as previous books
3.5 rounded down.
I didn't find it really exciting or haunting, but it was a good story and I don't regret reading it.

There was a lot I liked in this book, however it was really really tennis focused. I knew that would be part of it, however I didn't realize how into the games and scoring it was going to get, so that sort of took me out of the other main themes of the book.
It was well written and showed a lot of female strength, which I really enjoyed.

I liked the two MCs, and it was exactly what I expected from this book.
There was more plot than I thought there would be and some spice. The hearts of both main characters were good, which made you want to cheer for them.
Did I think a bull rider romance was for me, no.
Was it for me, yes, yes it was.
I didn't love the long hair on our MMC, but, when that's my biggest complaint about a book. We have a winner.
Love, spice and plot.
I love Elsie Silver's writing style. I like her FMCs and the banter she has between her characters. I can't wait to dive into the rest of this series.
A very scientific look at food and emotions. As someone that doesn't really enjoy similar books, I found this one extremely interesting.
3.5 rounded down.
This was a campy Christmas story. Some laughs, some spice, some cringe. Sort of preachy on some topics but not enough that I would recommend someone not read it.
It felt a little long. Like the same story could have been told in like, half the pages.
A solid 3.5 rounded down.
I think I would have liked this better without the attempt to tie in the wizard of oz, however, this is the best book in the series for me so far.
The spice was good. The characters were more likeable than I expected them to be.
I do think I am learning that I don't love my romance and my darkness in the same books. A gang/mafia story or some type of romance, but I don't really find the killing in these types of books... Sexy or entertaining.
I loved this book. It was everything I wanted.
5 star, critic darling, no.
Awarding winning, probably not.
But I have enjoyed all of the Dark Olympics books, and this was my favorite one yet. I find there has been more plot in the later books, which I enjoy. The spice was so good. I liked the characters. What more could I ask for.

I liked the characters but I don't love the whole popstar/normal person trope. So that makes it lose something for me.
I wanted to love this book. I really enjoy Maggie's writing and her characters, however, I found this book was too up and down with happiness and conflict.
I think we needed more time when things were building up, instead of new issues arising. It really pulled me out of rooting for the characters.
Lynn Painter does YA right.
This was an adorable love story with a swoon worthy MMC. Although they are high school aged kids, I didn't get weirded you reading it because it wasn't overly sexualized. I can't stand reading YA that borders on inappropriately graphic. It makes me feel like a perv. And not in a fun way.
3.5 Rounded Down.
Was this book predictable, campy and ridiculous. Yes it was. But, I knew what I was purchasing when I bought it, and it delivered.
I loved the correspondence between the two main characters, I enjoyed the vampire's best friend.
It lost some marks from me because I thought the plot near the end was rushed. If you are going to try to make a big conflict, I think you should just commit to it. But for something that should have been dramatic, it was sort of just. Lackluster.

Well ... I didn't know what to expect, but it wasn't this.
I was into the storyline, I wanted to learn what had happened on the island. I enjoyed the characters. But the dark, was dark.
Do I love a ... I would burn the world for you... Kind of love, yes. Do I care if bad things are done to honour your woman, no.
But holding her head under water, shark infested water at that, while you fuck her.... Not my kind of spice. And saying how tight she feels when close to death, it's a bit much.
Being more into the story than the spice surprised me. And i am happy to report I didn't come out of this book with any new kinks, which is a relief.
Well, I don't know how I got into these, but this is the second one in the serious that I have read, this time as an audio book.
It was entertaining, but I don't love it. The “romance” in this one seemed less dark than the previous one I had read in the series, which was better for me.
I also like the concept of retelling fairy tales or Disney stories as something else, and having villains be the heroes, however, the retelling of the Lion King seemed like a bit of a stretch for me.
This book wasn't bad, but it wasn't great for me either.
I took me much long than it should have to finish and that is basically what is driving the rating.
This was a major age gap, ex boyfriends dad romance, and I think that's too big a gap for me to fully enjoy. There was also the sub/Dom/praise kink but it seemed like his rules and tastes changed when they were applied to the FMC.
