This was a really good book, I enjoyed the real feeling of the MC coming into a new world, the anxiety, the fear, all of the uncertainty and poor mental health issues that he experienced when he first arrived.
The story develops further from there with a lot of detail, and the feeling of being a human in a new world with all of the excitement, fear, loneliness and newness of seeing all of these other races and such.
This was a very interesting read for me, I was very nervous about the original concept; namely its about a Tree that is rooted in place :-) I was worried that the story would be boring, but it actually pulled it off really well and was pretty engaging. I'll definitely read book two! The narrator was also pretty decent for the audiobook.
This book was good, I enjoyed parts of it. The world building and character development is good. But there was something very annoying about it for me, and that was how “dense” the main character is. I feel he should have learned lessons a lot sooner, and the stunted character growth for the MC was to make the story longer than it needed to be. It fit the plot well, but he comes across as unnaturally lacking in common sense ...
I may look at the second book, but not now, maybe a little later it would be too much back-to-back for me to read.
I hope that this helps you in your determinations as to whether this is a good book or not to read ...
Wow, this was a really good find (thanks r/litrpg!). I rarely leave a written review and this time I have to say a few words.
This book was amazing and the narrator and author had me chuckling out loud so many times, its really awesome. I loved it so much and cannot wait for the next one in December!
What an amazing end to the series - completely fantastic series and I am looking forward to a potential future series by the awesome duo of Will and Travis to entertain

I initially started this audiobook a few months ago and didn't really like it that much (I think I got to chapter 2 or so). It just seemed so slow.
Well, I picked it up again recently and holy cow! Its amazing. I love the narrator and the voices and it just clicked for me this time around. I am steaming ahead for book two and I cannot wait.
