This has to be my new favorite from Mrs Gregory. Margaret Beaufort is a lady who historians know little of but what they do know is amazing. With her strong faith she is blinded to the harsh reality of her life. I loved and hated Margaret throughout the entire book.
Wow, this story was just so riveting I couldn't stop reading it. The story centers around Tessa, her plastic surgeon husband Nick, and single mom Vanessa. Vanessa's son Charlie gets injured in a roasting marshmallow accident and has Nick as his plastic surgeon.
As these things go Nick ends up becoming close...a little to close with Vanessa. Vanessa being a single mother and lonely takes all the advances to heart and develops strong feelings for Nick. She knows he's married but can't stop her heart from falling in love. At the same time Nick has become distant with his wife Tessa. She is doing her best to be the best stay at home mom in a world where tennis and charity functions are all the mother's do. She realizes she is losing her husband but due to her parents divorce is kind of jaded to it. She finally hears the words she never wanted to hear from Nick's mouth and has to make the hardest decision of her life.
I found this story very interesting and the character development was excellent. To see how innocent things started between Vanessa and Nick to where it ended was engrossing. I would recommend this book to any reader but most especially that of a married woman. We're quick to say we'll walk right out that door but in the end walking out of that door hurts more than just you and your spouse. Great job Emily Griffin!
Such a wonderful concept to write about. I am so glad my friends pushed me to read this book. I'm looking forward to reading more books by Gayle Forman.
I have never struggled to finish a book like I did with the Distant Hours. I think this book was long winded and with no clear direction set for the characters. The story of the three sisters is touching but that's my only positive remark.
I enjoyed Shooting Stars but this book fell flat. The girls were very muted and it felt like there was meant to be more of a storyline about them personally but it never developed.
The ending was rushed and the were a few incidents that never panned out so it left me asking more questions than actually feeling satisfied.
This book was given to me to read and I was quite happy with it. The book deals with the world basically coming to an end and focuses on one family during this whole time. Not only are they dealing with the world ending but the children are dealing with a new mother who is really young and frightened. She's dealing with a pilot husband who is always unavailable to talk and then eventually never communicates anymore. She now is the mother to children who are very unsure of her and she is trying to cope with being a single woman in a world that is turning on itself. I would recommend this book to anyone!
Cute story about love loss, forgiveness, and maturity.
Nola and Caleb are at the center of this quick romance story. A very predictable story with not a lot of character development but still worth a read.
I can't wait to read the next book. My only complaint about this book is that Katniss is entirely to stubborn for my liking.
I have never cried so much reading a book. The plight Javier Zamora faces at 9 years old migrating from El Salvador to the US ALONE was remarkable.
There's no way to rate one's life story other than to appreciate the stories they share.
Wonderful Plot Twists
Wow!! What a great story, I was shocked up until the very end. Freida McFadden is a genius!

Upon their arrival a terrible blizzard strands them in the home where Tricia believes someone is squatting in. When Tricia finds a hidden door behind a bookcase filled with Dr. Hale's recordings of patient sessions she can't help but listen to the tapes. It turns out she has stumbled upon Dr. Hale's final days via these tapes!
I highly recommend this book, the plot twists alone are worth it. The characters are so well written and the setting is amazing.
What a fantastic thrilling ride this book was!! I love Ashley Flowers and her love of all things true crime shows ever present in this debut novel.

I absolutely loved this book! The writing was excellent and I felt I was listening to Ashley and Brit telling this story on one of their Crime Junkie's episodes. The characters are well developed and the twists and turns made my head spin. What a great way to start off 2023!
Wow Wow Wow!! This book was fantastic and had so many twists!!

Andy, Nina's husband, seems to relate to Millie and they begin to make some strong bonds on their concern for Nina's behavior.
This book is not what I expected in the least, there's so many underlying secrets that I didn't see coming! There's really no way to explain this book without giving away pivotal plot points. If you love a fast paced thriller I highly recommend this book!
Loved this continuation of The Cure, I was concerned it would lose its thunder but not at all.

Wow! As a woman who grew up with a mother/daughter relationship from hell I related to Jennette so much. She said things about herself and her relationship with her mother I couldn't/can't ever see myself saying. I highly recommend this book be read.
Philippa Gregory did it again, this is an amazing book. This book meant more to me now that I myself am a mother. The love and sorrow expressed in this book for the Queens children is astounding. The female intuition touched upon in this book makes me more aware of what a mother is capable of. Needless to say this is one I would recommend to any historical fiction reader.
Wow!! My first Colleen Hoover book and what a great one. Five stars to this great work of fiction!!
Lowen Ashleigh is a writer asked to complete a popular series penned by Verity Crawford who had a tragic accident and is no longer functioning at the mental capacity of an adult. Lowen moves into Verity's home at the behest of Verity's husband Jeremy where dark family secrets come to light.
Man the suspense was palpable in this book! I held my breathe so many times waiting to see what happened. In true romantic fashion there's forbidden love and tragic loss. The end was the most epic twist I've read in a while and I highly recommend this book!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ what a thrilling book!!
I'm so glad I took the recommendation for this book. The first page sucked me in and I was not disappointed. I never knew what's to expect and had such a fun time deciding who the guilty party was.
This story is about Quincy Carpenter and her terrifying night at Pine Cottage when some of her closest friends were slaughtered leaving her as the only survivor. Quincy attempts to lead a normal life with the help of her friend Coop (police officer Cooper) who rescued her that terrifying night, her loving boyfriend Jeff, and her fellow Final Girl Lisa who also experienced a horrific night of murder and mayhem. One day Samantha Boyd, the third Final Girl, arrives into Quincy's life only to make Quincy come face to face with those awful skeletons in her closet.
This book kept me on my toes and I highly recommend this read to all my fellow thriller lovers.
This story tugged at my heart strings in the fact that I'm an older sister. I related to Pearl on so many levels. Lisa See is wonderful at developing such deep characters, even the ones you want to hate you end up loving.
I was influenced by BookTok to read this book. All the reviewers said it was gut wrenching and extremely sad but I didn't get any of those emotions from this book.
Autumn and Finny are best friends from birth and we are taken on the journey of their friendship during high school. This is your typical friendship to relationship story and the plot was very predictable. I gave this book three stars because it kept my interest but Autumn's character frustrated me, she was so oblivious to such blatant clues from her friends and family and it was very unrealistic and off putting. Finny's POV isn't given too much and I understand there's a second book with his POV but I'm not sure I'll read it. The ending was rushed and I wish the story focused more on what happens after we get the twist.
All in all if you're looking for a cute love story with some harsh realities that are tossed in as an afterthought then I recommend this book.
I read this book from NetGalley and have to say I'm so glad I was asked to review it. Wow, what a gripping story with such well developed characters. I thought I had everything figured out but in the end things were not as they seemed.
This is the story of two sisters Tully and Rachel who are coming to grips with their father Stephen marrying Heather a younger woman. Their mother Pam has severe dementia at a young age and can no longer recognize the family. Each character holds a secret that has caused severe damage to their lives. Tully is a kleptomaniac, Rachel uses food to mask a past pain, Heather is a poor girl from an abusive background trying to make something of herself, and Pam has divulged a very scary secret about their father Stephen.
This book really kept me guessing and once we knew the truth I was blown away. I will recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good dysfunctional family story! Please be aware there may be some triggers as this book deals with assault and domestic violence.
I have not read R.L. Stine in quite some time but this was a fun read for sure. I give it four stars!
Fear Street strikes again and Cory is obsessed with the new girl at school Anna Corwin who is mysterious and completely infatuated with Cory. When Cory starts to fall behind in gymnastics and friendships he realizes this girl has a huge hold on him. He finally confronts the family on Fear Street and stumbles upon a disastrous reality the Corwin's are living. A fun quick read worth your time!
What a fantastic read, an idea that we could potentially see our own alternate life based on one decision or event was fun and creative.
Annie Byers was a strong female character that knew despite what she was being told that her life was not what she was currently living. I could not imagine being told that the memories you hold are all false and that the marriage and family you had was a figment of your imagination and hearts desires. When Annie finally gets things to line up the way they should be I was all smiles, this is a great heartfelt story and made my mind whirl with the idea that maybe just maybe there are alternate lives we are living.
I highly recommend this book and am so glad I picked it to read!
