It took me a long time to get in to the book but the more I read the more I got in to it. I enjoyed the mix of fiction to support historical events.
A nice story, but found I didn't get in to it as much as I did with ‘The Lido' which I loved.
Very evocative of the time and a gripping storyline to keep interest until the end of the book.
Took me a bit to get in to the book but once I got in to it I enjoyed the book. Poignant and thought provoking.
Reads this for book club. It's not my usual choice of books. Sadly not a surprised about what happened as it all unravelled, but I guess well written if it's your kind of book
Really loved this book, cosy and comforting- good to revisit the familiar characters with some new ones thrown in too.
Bit of a slow burn to get in to and lots of different story lines to try and keep up with but gets better as the book goes on
I almost gave up on this which is unusual for me, but ploughed on and begrudgingly finished it.... No idea what this book is about.
absolutely increadible read, beautiful descriptions and evocative of another time and place.
Fascinating to read about Giles journey through auditioning and eventually performing in Hamilton. Having seen him
Perform in the show it helped me understand the character more and appreciate just how much work goes in to staging these shows .
