I laughed and laughed. This time I listened to the audiobook. The narrator (Lacie Glennox) did an excellent job adding inflection and tone to the author's book.
I'll be sharing this book with other mothers.
This is an easy read to get into classics. It is broken up into short stories that have a nice plot and solution wrapped up in each chapter.
This was such a fun book. I found the characters relatable and endearing. I enjoyed the plot and there's excellent character development.
-Creative world-building
- An interesting and complex plot
- Heavily focused on revenge
- Graphic violence presented
- An adult fantasy not appropriate for young YA readers.
What an interesting book! This is a retelling of Moby Dick from the whales perspective. It's very imaginative and a little strange but very creative.
Beautifully written and powerful. The story is very moving. I just didn't enjoy it. I felt bummed out and disinterested through the book.
This book has a slow start but then it picks up and it is so gripping and imaginative. I really enjoyed it.
Wow this is a power and beautifully written book. I recommend listening to the Audiobook version. There were times it made me laugh and cry. It's a very powerful look at a girl learning who she is and how to relate and make peace with her mother.
(There are some sexual inferences that may not be appropriate for younger readers)
Great stories and wisdom. It did feel like the author repeated himself several times for that I took of one star.
Very creative and complex world building. Likeable characters that you can really get invested in.
Not my favorite book in the Expanse. I am struggling with the idea of my favorite characters getting old. I do enjoy the addition of some more fresh Characters and the incredible world-building that occurs in this book.
I love the character development and world building in this book.
It is vey violent and full of gory battle scenes so if you are sensitive to that I'd skip this one.
I loved the characters and the setting. The plot wanders and at sometimes is a bit of a bummer. Hardy stays true to his usual style.
Amazing characters! Hilarious and tragic. Overall wonderfully written.
It's just so darn long!
Beautifully written! Interesting plot. Complex characters. A part of me wishes I'd read this sooner, but I also feel that I read it at the right time. I found Jane very relatable and I really like that Jane is satisfied with herself and who she is. I also have such a soft spot for Helen who seems to really help Jane mature. Although I'm not fond of the romance of this book I really enjoy the character development.
I really enjoyed this book. The main character is not a typical perfect princess. We get to see her grow and become stronger and better. She is a relate-able heroine. The story is fun an exciting and I had a hard time putting the book down to go to sleep. The ending did feel a little rushed I wish there'd been more “meat” at the end.
I couldn't stick with this book. I really wanted to like this book. I love watching John Green's nerd fighter videos and I wanted to support him. This book gave me too much insight to the mind of teenage boys. I couldn't get stand they way that the main character is attracted to a girl who is self-destructing. The writing skill is nice and I think that John Green can be a great writer.
I'm feeling like there's just so many dystopian books I can't keep them straight. This one has a sense of humor and very lovable characters. Not a bad read, but it feels a little redundant.
