She is a horrible friend who doesn't actually listen to her best friend. HE keeps telling her he loves his bride, but does not want to go to the wedding– that it sucks and SHE keeps taking that as he doesn't want to get married.
The listener can figure out what is going to happen 5 minutes in. Which... it is a romance, we all know what is going to happen, but in this case it makes the MCs seem so stupid. This would be forgivable if the main leads had ANY chemistry. Like... the only good thing she says about him is that he is good looking.
I'm honestly so infuriated and I would have DNF'd this if I hadn't been stuck listening to it while I was driving home from work.
I'm not calling it quits on Poston's adult books, but WOW I'm thinking we just don't click.
I actually could not remember the two main male characters apart so I am not actually sure what happened in this book
The weakest of the meet cute series so far.
This was my first book by Ashley, and I liked her writing style and would gladly read another one, but this seemed too short and especially rushed.
I was hoping for great things, after The Dead Romantics I was so geared up to read this book and it fell short. I know it was short, I know it's a cutsey-theme valentines series but it was a little sparse and I just didn't get it. Audrey Love is the girl before the girl - her ex's all go on to find the one after dating her. She's Best Man at her best friend Rhett's wedding, the Maid of Honour is Theo who she hates. Rhett goes missing on the day of, Audrey thinks she kissed him the night before and now he's run off. But she was blinding drunk so can't be sure. Theo drags her drunk ass round the town trying to find Rhett until they realise Rhett and his bride have gone off and eloped together and Audrey actually kissed Theo. Wasn't feeling it but it was only 43 pages.
This was a cute, mostly enjoyable read that can be finished in one sitting. It wrapped too quickly, however - it needed at least another page or an epilogue to make it satisfying.
Audrey Love, the best man, and Theo Luck, the maid of honor, lose the groom on his wedding day, and they're running around town looking for them. They checked all the rooms except the bridal suite before they started their manhunt, and if they had they would have discovered that the bride and groom had eloped. And their love is not convincing.
