I read some previous reviews and was worried I would not like this book. I think I may have just read reviews from negative people.
As usual after reading a book by Nevada Barr, I am interested in visiting another national park. This was Isle Royale National Park in the middle of Lake Superior.
Years ago, I attended a learning session about wolves of North America. This book told me some things I did not already know about wolves. Nevada Barr books are always filled with information about nature, a touch of romance, and enough mystery and danger to keep me at the edge of my seat. This one set in winter had some very cold camping, with a strange beast clawing at the tent. Although much of the book took place during daylight, it was sometimes so frightening, it made the story seem dark. I especially enjoyed Anna growing older, since I have been growing older along with her.
