[3.2] it was going well until it wasn't. the dancing around each other until the dams of passion broke was actually rather sweet, and i was enjoying the cautious back-and-forth that graced the pages.
but every time the family drama took hold, my eyes were rolling into the sunset.
poor Mason carries his entire dysfunctional family on his back, so i understand there's a lot riding on him to keep his niece safe from the drunken mess that is his brother. however, the “compromise your job for me, Chief” despite the conflict of interest reached ridiculous heights for me, especially when Nash does a 180, comes out for him, and saves the day (at least that's what it felt like). didn't help that Mason's apologies fell flat after all was said and done
