Reviews with the most likes.
I can resist everything but Pretty Little Liars. They are my guilty pleasure and Toxic was no exception. Delightfully unrealistic, absurd and predictable (for the most part), but I keep coming back for more. Well done, Sara Shepard.
Mini review:
What I liked:
- The story itself is surprisingly still interesting enough for me to continue reading.
- I must say that the suspense level was good. If only they didn't say everything in the book blurb..
- Hanna's and Aria's characters are way better than before in this book. They're rational and honest and very clear about what they want.
- I'm glad Ali didn't show up this time. It was easier to get through the book without her dramatically attitude and presence.
- The ending actually left me hanging even though I knew what was going to happen.
What I hated:
So many thing as a matter of fact:
- The story is obviously being dragged to fill the pages of the book. It could've been easily summarized in 12~13 chapters.
- The characters (meaning Spencer and especially Emily) are unbelievable. I just couldn't like them anymore, Spencer acting emotional and easily becomes attached to the wrong person (as always) and Emily is just... Crazy.
- Why in the world make every new person (with an exception of exactly 3 people) a bad person? Aren't there any good people in the world left?!
